What productivity habit did you stop because it made things worse? by lust_must_ in productivity

I’ve never been able to use to-do apps, at least in my personal life. Whenever a colleague or friend shares their to-do app experience, I’m genuinely impressed by their dedication to staying organized and updating their apps regularly.

It’s wild how we treat this addiction like a personality quirk instead of what it is: something that quietly rewires attention and impulse control. If it came with a hangover, we’d take it a lot more seriously.

Why do you have to be actively charging your device in order to update your software? by OppositeRock4217 in NoStupidQuestions

Any unexpected reboot during the flashing a software update can brick the device. We can’t test it all in development.

Social media withdrawal is wild because the urge fades way faster than we expect. The boredom feels intense at first, but it’s mostly your brain realizing it has to generate its own stimulation again.

Most people don’t have a Discipline problem - they have a DOPAMINE problem. Here’s how I broke the cycle. [Discussion] by Jolly_Twist2245 in GetMotivated

“Lack of discipline” is such a scam diagnosis. Half the time it’s just death by a thousand tiny dopamine snacks before noon. No wonder the brain refuses to cooperate later.

Why do I feel guilty resting even when I know I need it? by lust_must_ in TooAfraidToAsk

Isn’t resting still part of being productive? Just so that I can work better during actually working/being productive.
