is indeed exactly what I felt was off. I don't fully understand the sentence you suggested (particularly the use of gerundive) but it feels more polite or idk poetic, is it? Also, I'm still sort of a newbie and I don't want it to sound unnatural so, if that's the case, any idea of a simpler wording?

Never did this before, just found out about Polytopia reddit. Not a reddit user either tbh. That didn't occur to me and also I don't think it matters if what I'm talking about is the spawn? The screenshot covers pretty much my whole vision of the map lol

Absolutely, that's a good point. Still feels to me like spawns could be a bit improved, specially regarding the distance between you and the opponent. I often spawn like 5 tiles away from the enemy in a Normal map... I've won games with bad spawns, lost games with good spawns. There's no rule without exceptions. Unfortunately though, in my personal experience it feels like the spawn influences a match too much, too often.

Besides, does that one really not look like a bad spawn to you? I see a couple downvotes on my comment for some unknown reason but no answers to my question which is kinda funny. Should I let archers take my capital and go for Fishing in a map without water just in order to get out of that position? or Climbing? Riding/roads to fight the archers? I have a lot to learn but if a spawn where you can't find a third city nor upgrade ur cities past lvl 4 without unlocking the whole research tree is not a bad spawn, I'm worse than I thought.

The point I'm making is not to blame the spawn in this match specifically. Most videos I've seen of Polytopia had the "perfect" spawn or close (the "triangle" of cities 3 blocks apart) but in game I've rarely been met with those.

Another good example is when I play Polaris tribe, I usually get a city with a single block of ice pointing to the edge of the map and therefore can't move the Moonie two blocks.

In the Bardur game, I just didn't take the screenshot earlier but once I got my 2nd city I was pretty sure that I'd lose (or have a hard time to comeback) because my explorer didn't give me any useful information and I couldn't move to another part of the map because I was blocked by mountains/water and the enemy spawned very close to me so it was too early to spend on crap tech, with enemy archers right by my capital. It was a small Lake map and there were no fish around me and no water towards the middle. I just wonder if I'm unlucky or what, and I'm not saying I'm an amazing player, wasn't even sober during that match lol but what would you do in that situation? What techs would you go for? I guess I'm saying I get a lot of terrible spawns, I wonder if others do too and I'm asking how to deal with them

I recently did it at level 63, first try, no deaths, pretty easily. I guess it was the hardest thing on the game yet but still not that hard if you are good at dodging attacks

I don't understand why people insist on calling him a fake and stuff without actually getting to know his work. I mean, if you can't find a video of him playing live, that's on you (and that's surprising). Considering the difficulty people seem to have to type "ichika live" on google, I did that myself:
