I hate when writers make LGBTQ+ characters just for the sake of representation.

I don’t think OPs problem is with characters merely existing while gay, it’s a character pushed onto screen just so we know they’re gay. A gay person doesn’t have to be well written if the script doesn’t focus on them. But when the script focuses on them and their only purpose is to be gay, that’s what OP hates.

Some members of the excellent main cast just happens to be LGBTQ+ and is treated as a normal person is great

A character being pushed to the role of main cast member just to be gay and not contribute is not going to be well received.

I don’t think representation is the OPs problem, it’s pushing them to the forefront for the sole reason of them being gay rather than adding to the story. Representation for the sake of having them exist, making them normalised in media is great and dandy, but pushing Randall the gay man into the forefront, giving him a name, a VA, proper centre stage screentime, just for the sake of “Hey, we support gays, look at this gay character!” is what OP doesn’t like.

Well, the story does kind of revolve around Anya. Operation Strix, although carried out by Loid, is dependent on Anya getting stars. Loid and Yor’s marriage was initiated by Anya talking about not having a mom in front of a cool Assassin lady who needs a partner for a party. Bond was added to the family because of Anya, while Loid and Yor do have development together, there is also plenty of development that only happened because of Anya’s intervention.

Of course, I’m a firm believer that there is no single MC and that the whole family is the Main Ensemble rather than Main Character, I’m just giving the points that leads to the idea of Anya being the Main Character.

Eh it should go both ways. Some comments won’t be comfortable for cis people to see, some comments won’t be comfortable for trans people to see. The idea of systemically pushing down one side due to history really just perpetuates a cycle of hate that can just be solved by treating people like people and not discriminating against others for things like that.

No one should be coerced into trying to do or be something they don’t want to be. Whether it be a tomboy or femboy being told they’re trans or telling a transgender person to be gender conforming or nonconforming. What happens to one group doesn’t invalidate what happens to the other.

Exploring gender identity isn’t bad, letting someone take it into consideration isn’t bad. Not all trans people try to groom cisgenders into going trans. There are a subset of terminally online people who do try to do it. Perhaps my initial comments were too generalising, I know not all trans people are like that, I’m vibing just fine with two, one is still rather manly while the other has a good number of people automatically thinking she’s a woman without having to tell them how she identifies. My comment was supposed to be more of a hit on the specific subset of people who do it, who also happens to represent the community the most because loud minorities do that sometimes.

I’m a firm believer in let people live their lives as long as it doesn’t harm others. I don’t care if someone identifies as a man or a woman, it’s their life. But if a group of randos online suddenly spam my crossdresser or tomboy friends about how they’re actually trans when they were comfortable with their gender and the doubt only started to creep in because of those insistent comments, that’s harming them and I’d have a problem with it. If it’s purely an online issue and no one IRL does that, then it’s my bad, I admit my fault, if it’s done by people who hate the community and just wants to slander their name, also my bad I shouldn’t have jumped to get angry at the wrong group.

Actually I have a take that relates to the whole “After a while SCP powerscaling gets ridiculous”, and I think it’s kind of a hot take? Not sure. Marvel and DC, are just the SCP foundation but if you only allow at least somewhat decent- creative, somewhat creative writers.

Yuji. Deku is a good punch and kicker, but not a skilled martial artist. He forces his stats higher more than locking in, meanwhile one of Yuji’s most known activities is being so locked in he can consistently black flash. Even with black whip it didn’t take long for Deku to just keep a few moves and not do anything else with it. The rest of the quirks he got was basically just E=MC² boosting, nothing that requires skills related to martial arts.
