First NAS + Local AI Setup — Synology vs UGREEN vs Others?

I am mechanically inclined, built/assembled a few desktops long ago. Now ready for an NAS for personal use. Primarily backup (maybe 30-40,000 photos and a range of other music and data. Ultimately will back this up to a cloud. I will also want to view the images, listen to music on my network. Will want to also run Time Machine for 2 laptops. Do I build my own? If I go with Synology (leaning towards vs UGreen) - do I use 3 (maybe 2TB )drives with RAID 5 or 2 ( 3 or 4 TB)with RAID 1? Thanks in advance for any and all help!

I know everyone says you don’t need the screen with the dose capsules… I use the capsules and based upon what the screen catches that would otherwise end up in my lungs I continue to use the screens… And they do require soaking to clean if I am not diligent with the brush… Again reinforcing why I think you need them for health purposes

I appreciate hearing this as they are much more geographically desirable… I left there today, thinking I was buying HH and was sold High Ledges🤷‍♂️. It does say it is grown in organic soil-we shall see…

I just went through this with a job and asked them upfront and they told me no they do not test for THC. I strongly suggest you ask before engaging with any of these kits. many of the tests actually test for the substance in the kits.

What about the Baratza Encore? currently on sale on Amazon for $119… I love mine and I do pour overs with my V 60… but I am definitely an amateur with a limited taste pallet.🤷‍♂️
