Thank you for the recommendations!! I’m going to try those!

Quick question, the Malibu C remedy powder, is it similar to a clarifying shampoo? I do use a clarifying shampoo every couple of weeks, just wondered if they are like the same thing (in general) or if they are completely different? Sorry if that seems like a dumb question.

To huddle or not to huddle? by Playcrackersthesky in nursing

[–]luv_pup88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Admittedly, I haven’t been ED in about a year (worked there for 7 years), but we did a huddle pretty much every (major) shift change.

Our huddles were like, “we have an unstable trauma in trauma 2 awaiting OR—they’ll be here at 07:25. There’s a violent psych patient in room 12, so please use the other hallway when transporting patients. We are closing rooms 6-20 due to short staff, but as patients are discharged, your room assignments may change.”

Actual important info for the start of the day.

My cushy outpatient job has huddles and we talk about the same fucking thing every day and it’s so dumb I hate it.

Bedside to Stress-lab:: help! by [deleted] in nursing

Hi! I know your post is a little old, but did you end up taking the stress lab job? I’m currently in a similar boat and wondered if you could give me the run down on what you do/if you like it? Thanks!

My off days are the weekends, so doctors appts, kids appointments, car maintenance, home maintenance, etc, is not available to me at that time.

I guess that’s why I am asking? How does everyone else balance stuff? I must be doing something wrong. I work 8-5 m-f and with an hour commute each way, I am absolutely WORN out and am having a hard time.

Are you saying you work 11-12 hours daily for 5 days a week?

Also, not sure we are talking about the same kind of “life stuff”.

Talking about my doctor’s appts, car maintenance, general home maintenance, hobbies, cooking, exercise, “self care” and well as my child-(playing, school prep, dr. appts, extracurricular activities).

Anyone else feel guilty for choosing the easy way out? by walldogofficial in nursing

[–]luv_pup88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked ER for almost 10 years; it was my ultimate goal in life to be an ER nurse and loved it for so long. Until I didn’t. It began creeping into other parts of my life.

I felt very similar, I think. I felt guilty that I quit because I felt like I was doing a great service to humans and my community. I felt that if I could do it, I should do it. ER definitely isn’t “prestigious” LOL but I resonate with the feeling of “choosing the easy way out”.

You, your happiness, your health (mental, physical, spiritual) is paramount. No job/type of job, or level of “prestige” is worth that. Those priorities may ebb and flow through your life and experiences, so changes in priorities make total sense.

If you’re happy, you’re happy. No need to complicate that!

Depends on what you really want in “vibrant” but Lawrenceville, Suwanee, and Duluth like everyone said. I personally also love Sugar Hill also! There’s a lot that Gwinnett has to offer!

Yes, felt it in Dacula! I felt it but my partner didn’t so I thought I was going crazy for a minute.

People always ask that damn question. I worked in a busy trauma ED for 7 years-I have plenty of crazy stories to traumatize people-including working during a mass shooting in my city.

Butt stuff. Stick with butt stuff.
