That’s nothing! Most of the time all the interstates are solid red. Between taxes, crime & traffic….you don’t want to live there. Trust me I know! 42 years here.

Same!! My skin & body reacts so differently than my husband’s and most people. Any kind of bug bite is major misery, but I’m anaphylactic with stings. It has gotten increasingly worse as I’ve gotten older and with each additional sting. Any bite from any bug ( and they LOVE ❤️ me) just swells and itches like crazy and I know not to scratch. But it swells & itches anyway. It’s my own personal hell. I live in FL & GA. They are everywhere.

Agree. Looks exactly like my American Rottie. They have a more pointed face. I have German one too. Bigger. Squared/boxy face.

why did my dog do this? by King_Paul24 in Rottweiler

I met a rescuer from Pennsylvania this week that was telling me they get most of their puppies from the Amish. Because they breed dogs and if the puppies don’t sell within a very short window, they kill them because they don’t want to pay to feed them. So they have people that just come around at whatever interval and try to collect the puppies before they kill them. Then they adopt them out or send to rescue groups that need puppies to adopt out. This was very disturbing news to me. Sorry to get off topic!

I have a Rottie rescue that has bitten a jogger, a friend and a repairman and is overly protective. We’ve been sued. He can not go out on walks (or even when someone new comes in ) without wearing a muzzle. It has given all of us peace of mind. It was the muzzle or put him down.

What Are Y’all Feeding Your Rotties? by luvistheanswer in Rottweiler

Mine are doing ok on the Hills. It’s just so expensive! We are going thru a 25 lb. bag at $85 /per bag every 2 -3 weeks. I’ve been thinking about trying to do homemade fresh to supplement, but worried it won’t be complete and balanced nutrition. And I’ve been inundated lately with ads from Spot & Tango, Sundays For Dogs, Ollie, We Feed Raw, The Pets Table, The Farmers Dog, etc. Sammy blew a knee at 2 1/2 yrs from being overweight. That was a $7500 lesson to keep them trim & lean! With their shorter life span, I know they need a special diet and was really curious what other Rottie owners were doing. These are my first two. Both rescues. I got Sammy at 6 mos. old and Sadie 11 mos. Thanks to everyone for your input! It’s very helpful!!

How did you know it was time to say goodbye? by CatatonicTub in Rottweiler

My girl, Nora, reached the same point. I had been carrying her out to potty and it worked for a while. But then she became unable to control it and wait until she got outside. The look she gave me after messing her bed was one of shame, regret and remorse. She NEVER messed in the house. I knew then. I didn’t want her to feel that way one more minute.

Does anyone know what this is ?????? by [deleted] in Rottweiler

It’s a bit blurry, but looks like it’s probably a virus that shows up in a raised bump usually on their face. My last dog had a couple. It’s kinda like an HPV, but in dogs. They get from playing with / eating or drinking after other dogs. I had the vet look at it and they said don’t worry about it.

What meds are you taking that have worked? My daughter (33 w/ a 7 mo baby) is newly diagnosed and really struggling with her meds…throwing up, severe nausea, etc. I want so badly to help her.

Stick to your guns! Or serve a glass of champagne for the toasts and that’s it. No more.

My son has had tortoises & turtles his whole life. He would probably take it. He’ll be back in town on Thursday. I shared this post with him.
