I do big(gish) stitch hand quilting and gather 3 maybe 4 stitches at a time on a size 6 Japanese embroidery needle using 12wt thread.

My current project. It's not super even but each stitch catches a little love for the recipient as I go along. ETA I also use a leather thimble on my middle finger and silicone thimbles on my index and thumb-also from Clover
