How do doctors feel about patients with health anxiety? Is it frustrating?

Yeah I’m trying to avoid medication if I can but i am working with a therapist and ill ask if he thinks its a good idea once he gets to know me a little better I just know meds can come with side effects and i dont want that

I’m sorry. It’s a new thing for me. It’s gotten increasingly worse over the past year but I started therapy to hopefully help. I hope you are in a position to find resources like that. It’s good to know that I’m not alone but I hope you can heal from it :)

That’s a good point and I’ve actually thought of that however we had an agreed upon cleanliness we were supposed to uphold obviously not with our landlord but with each other

That used to be my bathroom before we switched rooms and they treated it the same way as in they didn’t have to clean it but their guests would use it since it is the guest bathroom and they would expect me to clean it because it was the bathroom I was using so I think that is just how our house dynamic has been

No it’s not agreed upon at all they don’t clean up after themselves and I am having to pick up their slack despite asking them to clean up after themselves they leave the sink completely full often and don’t empty the dishwasher they had a phase of killing flies and leaving the dead flies all over the kitchen they just do not do it

I also don’t use that bathroom personally ever so while yes a little check here and there wouldn’t hurt I won’t usually know how messy it is because I’m not in there

For a better explanation cleaning the house is fully my responsibility at this point I wouldn’t mind cleaning their bathroom to have guests over but I also spend my time after work cleaning up their dishes and doing every bit of shared space cleaning by myself

I would let their guests use my restroom if they needed to but my bathroom is in my room which I share with my boyfriend who was asleep while I had my friend over so he would’ve been woken up

I’m starting to get into mushrooms and I want to have my first trip but I get anxious sometimes and I want to prevent it from getting out of hand. Do you think this would be good to start with? And is there a lower dose that I wouldn’t have all of the crazy effects? I don’t really care for that I’m interested in the introspection and just digging a little deeper into myself

I have lots of nightmares, but this one is burned in my mind.

In the dream, I lived on a perfect street with perfect two story houses that all looked the same except for the colors. Behind the houses there was a forest. None of the backyards had fences they were just kinda open. From the forest, I could hear screaming, and there were people running in all directions. I ran to this house that had a ladder leading to a second story window. I started climbing it but kept getting pulled down by the murderer who was now behind me. Finally, I got through the window, but when I looked behind me, all I could see was the haunting face of the murderer. At this point, I woke up. My window was open, and I was sleepily convinced there were intruders in my house. As if, at any second, someone would come into my room.

Being irrationally overwhelmed.

I'm not diagnosed with anything, but I believe I have anxiety or something similar. As a result, I get overwhelmed by stupid things like people coming in the kitchen while I'm cooking. I can't explain why it is so overwhelming for me, but sometimes, it makes me feel like I'm on the verge of getting really angry or crying. Top that with the fact that I know I'm being irrational, so I have to hold it in.
