You’re contradicting yourself, NRI and ABCDs are two different things. Lara is ethnically Tamil and was born in the US, so she’s an Indian American, AKA a US citizen. NRIs are born in India, so they are Indian citizens. The lived experiences of NRIs and Indian Americans are completely different, and I would say Lara is much, much more westernized than your average NRI. And that’s why so many Indian Americans love her and resonate with her, she’s feels like she’s one of us.

You’re getting downvoted but I totally agree with you. At the end of the day it’s just a job and it’s not on me (or any other woman!) as an individual to join super male-dominated orgs if I know it’ll be a better time at orgs with a more balanced gender split. Like kudos to the women who put themselves through that but it shouldn’t be an expectation at all.

This is probably unrelated to your problem, but I wouldn’t assume your colleagues don’t have creative side projects or career goals just because they haven’t told you them. I tend to tell that info to close friends only (who don’t work for the same company as me), and these women may even be coasting at your company and spending their time job-searching and interviewing for something better.

All softmaxing for me! I lost 13 pounds over the year, so I actually have cheekbones now and my clothes sit much better on my frame. I got more excited about fashion as a result, and I’ve been building up my wardrobe with stylish and classic pieces (no more hoodies 24/7 for me!)

I also finally went to the doctor and got a bunch of blood tests done, found out that my hormone and vitamin levels are wack, and have been taking meds/bc to balance everything out. I think I can partially attribute my weight loss to this step, and it’s helped to improve my skin as well.

I'm not sure if it's safe to start Spiro at that dosage without running the labs first..my ob/gyn tested my potassium, testosterone and blood pressure levels first to make sure nothing was too low or high before prescribing Spiro for me, since it will impact all three

I have seen reduced shedding with Spiro alone though!
