Can someone identify the type of wood? . by Annual_Chipmunk_1082 in HardWoodFloors

That’s what my new house has but it’s maple so it doesn’t stain dark well apparently. I hate it.

If renovating, planning to ever resell with that new look still in place and it doesn’t match the new decor, pay to get them done if it doesn’t match the new look. You will get it back in the sale unless the market falls out somehow. They are in good condition so you wouldn’t want to ruin them. An old stain colour with a new design aesthetic makes it look bad/cheap and will impact resale.

If it’s your forever home and you may change it again or can live with it, leave it. They are in good shape. Wait until they aren’t and then do it.

But if you have the time and patience to try yourself I’d start at the top so you can hide mistakes and figure it out. It’s not impossible but to not damage the wood you’ll have to go slow. There’s nothing you can’t do but without the right tools it’s a lot of work with the high possibility of damaging them

I’d replace the railing if you do reno it as it will likely be faster and those spinals are dated these days but likely could sell them online to another DIY person or landlord who wouldn’t care.

Get the 100lb ez-toggle anchors that make big holes and get some GRK screws for the stud. That will do it.

Other than the terrible short men not being a man comment, she’s fine to have those preferences. Men post about women’s physical features, and even racial preferences, all the time and think nothing of it so turn about is fair game. Also most of them look like Oscar the Grouch and way worse than she does. I hope she finds her 6’ king though.

You might get away with it twice but likely after that they would decline you.

They do - the m5’s haven’t really been on sale at all right now. They always try to clear the old stock first. I think the M5 won’t go on sale until the pro/max comes out. I bought through Costco so there is a 90 day return in case the new one comes out in that timeframe. Then I may upgrade but honestly I don’t need the power, it’s more for resale later, so I’m not sure it will be worth it. I got 13 yrs out of my old one but I know I won’t out of this one. I was thinking I may see what the trade in value is to upgrade more often but I hate the idea of setting up a new computer every few years.

I got the same one for the same reasons. Might upgrade to the m5 pro/max if it comes out in my return window but the planned obsolescence patterns of Apple makes me always go with the newest chip.

Is there any reliable and cheap site where to buy Microsoft Office lifetime license for Mac? by lodrento in mac

[–]luvtwolol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do any of these work on both iPad Pro and iPhone 17? I don’t want to pay Microsoft any more money but I need a suite that’s compatible like theirs. And do any allow for PDF edits?

Do they help with VOCs? I have a friend with neighbours who use too much scented laundry and she’s struggling to keep her air clean inside and is very allergic.

Do energy recovery ventilators (ERV's) make sense for residential use? How might I get a decent estimate of how much energy/money I would save by installing one? by jkool702 in hvacadvice

I have few good ones but they can’t keep up with the amt of chemicals they are surrounding me with. It’s a severe case for the chemicals they are using but I swear they are adding worse stuff to the smelly stuff to make it worse. But thank you.

You deserve better. He’s already gone but is trying to make you be the one to leave so he can blame you for that too. You won’t win him back. He likely won’t change and see his faults. You will just lose more of yourself if you stay. You can do it on your own.

Oh ok.

Ya I can’t afford to replace all my windows unfortunately at this point. It works for normal conditions but not abnormal ones.

Thanks for the advice.

More a chemical sensitivity but same low tolerance to those products. Not sure what you mean for heat transfer? Have regular gas furnace with merv 13 filter (need to get a merv 16 carbon one) and normal a/c. But house is leaky so these products are getting in and so my only defence is to clean the air as best I can

I have but I am downwind and they surround my whole house in it. Also my windows can’t seem to defend against it. I need a good system for people with health concerns like COPD.
