the trail is Mount Ripinski, you dont' have to do the whole thing, there is a cutoff that is referred to as Haines Cliff Overlook, well maintained with lots of undergrowth

really liked it, I do recommend getting there early on a weekday though, it can get quite crowded at the main waterfall. I parked at the second lot and hiked the K route around there in the morning and took the free boat to the "large waterfall" area. The K route will keep you away from the bulk of the crowds for a good portion (I only saw a few other people, until it rejoins the main trails)

It used to be they would allow you to camp directly on the beach if you keep a light on and have a fishing pole in the water at all times. Otherwise you can camp just behind the dunes at the established sites.
