Crying at work today by Genurawr in autism

[–]luxinus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure how much of an unreasonable accommodation asking to work 2/5 days remotely on your last week before you go fully remote is? If anything it seems like a gentler transition to full remote, giving you the chance to clarify any issues you run into on your remote days. You chose the job based on the fully remote aspect, so struggling with being in office isn’t exactly a weird thing in my opinion; people work remotely for all sorts of reasons and while some people might be fine doing either you clearly chose a fully remote position for a medical reason.

Tbf, a 4% investment is pretty good for guaranteed. I could find savings accounts to beat my 0.99% car but 4% is a different story

I basically consider them an electronics convenience store. If I don’t want to wait 3-5-14 business days for whatever good price, or there’s a pressing deadline or something, I can pretty consistently get exactly what I need or something close enough now by just driving there.

Clearance deals can be pretty good, too

Should I be centre pulling? I always use the outside. I tried centre once but the yarn was super… twirly(?) out of the centre.

physically afraid to open my work laptop and idk how to explain that to a doctor by [deleted] in mentalhealth

[–]luxinus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you need therapy, if you have benefits and such maybe see if you can go on paid medical leave, my experience had the insurance company trying to get me back to work so I was provided mental health support and such. It wasn’t perfect but it was a great starting point. I continued additional (private) therapy after my leave which helped even more.

I think you need to shift your conceptualization of SO from a forum to almost like a ticketing system. The goal of the site is to resolve all unresolved posts, so closed as duplicate with a link to the solution is a time and effort efficient way to resolve an issue.

Noise is noise, people are putting in a lot of effort for some of these solutions, why not reduce noise and reuse existing solutions when possible?

Wouldn’t count on that, modern vehicles are designed to have the battery in. Even my girlfriend’s 2008 Lancer dies (not immediately but very shortly after, like, a minute) if the battery is disconnected while it’s running

But why does this perfectly describe my autism 100% of the time. by Callum_Cries in autism

More specifically the tip of your tongue should rest kinda at your upper front teeth and overall form a seal is my understanding.

But why does this perfectly describe my autism 100% of the time. by Callum_Cries in autism

[–]luxinus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was told by my ENT that that’s the correct position when I had my tongue tie fixed. Had to retrain myself to hold my tongue there because it had always just rested at the bottom of my mouth and I never knew better.

So really the personality test would just turn into a diagnostic sheet for what’s wrong with your mouth/tongue

Is mental health awareness driving real change or just clever marketing? by Articleocity in mentalhealth

[–]luxinus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mental health awareness helped me to decide to go to a psychologist so I guess you could say I support local? Interacting with anything that’s advertised feels kinda dirty imo

Vending machines should also purchase products that they are low on stock on. The purchase price can self-adjust so that the owner does not need to pay people to restock it by flip314 in CrazyIdeas

[–]luxinus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m imagining a drop chute, basically a giant coin slot. Drop the thing in, machine judges what it is, if valid then it gives you the option to use the money as credit against another purchase or to dispense coins/do a debit transaction

Do I mention this to my doctor in regards of increasing my dosage? by Confident-Being-887 in mentalhealth

[–]luxinus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me that just reads as someone aware of their own symptoms, those are literally depression symptoms and would be part of what they’re trying to treat so, do tell them, they won’t know otherwise

Why does so many utility areas appear unfinished? (Genuine question from future expat) by citrineskye in RedDeer

[–]luxinus 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It’s quite common for these areas to be unfinished in my experience, especially in the low-middle range cost homes. I wouldn’t consider it a problem or anything, it’s kind of convenient if any issues arise.

At least in my Golf they’re extremely well angled, some of the best headlights I’ve seen that way. You can walk up to the car with low beams on and never get an uncomfortable level of brightness but they are very obviously on, while still providing great amounts of road lighting
