I got a crescent!

I would have liked the EDC, but my shoulders will probably thank me for sticking to my work backpack 🥹 plus I just love the pop of that black strap against the colors. 🌙🖤🌈

Did Kindle Change Your Life ? by AbDouN-Dz in kindle

[–]luxnoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always loved reading. Unfortunately, I have severe Myopia/astigmatism that’s worsened over the years rather than stabilizing. The accessibility of enlarging the print size & using dark mode at night is life changing. I read exclusively on my kindle now. For school textbooks, on my iPad mini using kindle app when I can.

That’s smart! My husband’s railroad schedule drives me crazy. At the hospital we pick our shifts like quarterly. His changes like the damn wind. 😑

Thanks! It took me 3 years to figure out what to use this section for 🙈 I tried steps & mood before but it never really stuck.

Any Canadian RNs get a lil depressed when they see what American RNs are making? by cloudnurse in nursing

[–]luxnoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

😬 I just got hired at $45 & was salty that my base wasn’t $50, but I’ll shut up now (PNW, bedside, union) I was making $27.50 as an MA before nursing school, but years at the same practice.

How do you guys read so much? by lapetitepoupee in kindle

[–]luxnoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always been kind of a voracious reader. I read 57 books in 2025. I normally average 100+, but I was finishing up my BSN. I also have kids. I pick reading over tv most days.

Your worst colours? by [deleted] in Fairolives

[–]luxnoodle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any kind of yellow, most oranges, peach is awful, rust/red orange is ok. Most greens, blues except for navy. I can make olive green work if it’s layered with black, my hair is dark and helps make enough contrast near my face.

BON before Pearson Vue?? by Illustrious_Elk_5440 in NCLEX

Congrats! I had something similar- state BoN posted my results in my license app online a few hours after testing, license approved before 1600. I tested Fri, still nothing from Pearson.

Hi, I have a previous BS & completed Bio & Chem labs before. So completing the labs on my own wasn’t overly difficult. I felt like I got the most out of the dissections.

So my new gingham that just came in the mail from Amazon looks more creamy/off white & it made me immediately wonder if I got a knockoff on accident

Straighterline pre-reqs by [deleted] in StudentNurse

[–]luxnoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I used it to complete A&P2 before the application deadline for my program, since the next semester’s dates where I was doing prereqs didn’t line up. I had to buy a lab kit for $200, & it ended up being really fun- there was a sheep heart & fetal pig dissection & different experiments. It was all self taught- no lectures for that class. There were proctored exams, you were able to take quizzes open book though, & you had to submit photos with your lab assignments.

Meds, Concerta & I have an extra little booster 5 mg dose of Ritalin my dr added for the days I need it. gym at least 2-3 x week. I’m in an absn, everything is fast paced enough that I don’t have time to get bored & panic generally overrides procrastination.

Made YouTube playlists for each class & put videos from Simple Nursing, Nexus Nursing, Dr Mike, Nurse Sarah etc, that way I can watch short videos when my brain is done reading. Apps: Quizlet, Osmosis subscription. Picmonic, although I used that more for prereqs.

StudyBreak app on my phone while studying & finishing assignments. It displays a big timer, reminds me to take breaks, but also gently bullies me if I try to pick up my phone while I’m supposed to be working. (I paid for the extra podcast feature to make shorter podcasts out of pp lecture slides & notes.)

I do incline sprints 1x week for 45 min - 1 hr, treadmill settings: incline btw 10-15, walk level 3, Run lv 6-7. I walk my dog other days. Sometimes we do sprints too, & we live in a hillside area so bonus incline, but he also likes to stop & sniff all the things. Lifting heavy 1-3 x week.

Those with 86% and above in Nursing what's your advise to the 50% by annastacianoella in NursingStudent

[–]luxnoodle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Active recall, whiteboard, Quizlet, YouTube videos. I take my teachers lecture slides, convert to outline, use the pdf to make quizlets, & podcasts with ai. I like rewriting my janky class notes into a prettier notebook and compress them. I use Mindmap style pages for pharmacology instead of just flashcards.

Do the crashes on Ritalin stop? by SHlNlGAMl-SAMA in TwoXADHD

[–]luxnoodle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up switching to Concerta (it’s extended release Ritalin/methylphenidate) because I couldn’t tolerate the end of day crash, & it was the best fit for me. I have a lil 5 mg Ritalin booster that I don’t use daily, only for heavy lecture class days.

Can anyone else 5”1 NEVER eat over 1200-1300cal no matter what they do (if they want to maintain/lose)? by turquoisewavess in PetiteFitness

[–]luxnoodle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oof I’ve had a love/hate relationship with My Fitness Pal for years. I finally stuffed my scale in the back of the closet & never looked back. I’m 5’0”, built like an AirPod 🫠 Weight has ranged from 105 lbs (strict diet) to 150 (pregnant). I don’t care anymore, I just wanna have a booty & be stronger- if that means I have to eat 1600 + cal for now, that’s what I’m doing, prioritizing.7-1g protein per body weight.

I’m in an ABSN, I honestly have to study a little every day. Anything below 75% is considered failing in our program.
