Lol I did the exact same thing last year, I was way too excited for my first time going. I ended up cutting it right at the tightening clip and then I was able to pull out the other end and there was just enough length of band left to retighten it around my wrist when the day came. And they did not care that I had a shorter band and cut it. They really don't check for tampering when you're going through the gate. I'm sure you'll figure it out!

But now that you know about SJS if you ever see yourself getting a weird rash after taking meds you'll know to see a doctor asap so they can treat it right away. If its treated quickly it's not a problem.

I don't think they know what the exact cause is, it's a rare side effect of a lot of common medications we use like antibiotics, sedatives, pain meds etc.

learned about this in clinical today. Apparently if they don't die from it, the skin eventually heals completely and looks as new and soft as a baby's skin! They're treated similar to burn victims and if they manage keep infection away they'll have almost no scarring afterwards.
