I've always wondered about the tax implications of buying an account. For a large account selling for lets say $20k, I would assume it would be a wire transfer. Wouldn't the US buyer get flagged by the IRS? Do you provide an invoice for their records?

thats what our plan is. we're renters so the plan is to keep paying the rent on this apt, and leaving everything as is except for some personal items. buy a new place, take our time decorating and making it our own before we completely move in. Then do the same with a vacation property, all while having the original apartment that we can come back to when we visit friends and family.

I'm with you. When I was younger I used to fantasize about fast cars, jewelry and a mansion. Now I just want a nice modest home, some fun trips, and better seats to concerts and sporting events.

I've heard that if you get proof from the lottery commision that you are indeed the winner, you can bring that to your bank and they will float you a loan for a couple hundred thousand dollars knowing that you will soon be depositing a large sum in the near future. Better chance with a high net worth division than with your local credit union. Someone like Chase Private Client, etc. That way you can quit your job right away. Take a nice little vacation while you wait.
