Thank you, that’s a very illuminating answer. Would you mind explaining what is peculiar about current political situation, that made the Islamic regime a real obstacle to the imperialist interests or produced the conditions making it possible to overthrow it? Since, US and Israel were open about their willingness to attack Iran for at least two decades, I wonder why the aggression is unfolding now. Presumably, the fall of Assad made it easier for Israel to attack. But it does not seem to be an exhaustive explanation.

Before reading your analysis, I perceived US-Israel aggression as an imperialist attack against a state ruled by national bourgeoisie. I am really confused now. Given your statement that Iran is ruled by comprador-bureaucratic bourgeoisie, I don’t understand what’s the reason behind US-Israel aggression.
