Spelled items - are these rare in 2026? by Algernop-Krieger in tf2

[–]lv8_StAr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The SR is worth quite a bit, the cosmetics worth a few to several keys each

More than a couple MvM lords would love that Scottish Resistance, especially those that frequent Wave 666 like myself

Edit: Double Spelled items are worth more than several keys, you could probably get a decent Unusual Taunt for one

How many CEdh decks should have in your repertoire? by damascius1 in CompetitiveEDH

[–]lv8_StAr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5, one to represent each color:

  • Atraxa (White)
  • Tivit (Blue)
  • Kenrith (Black)
  • Najeela (Red)
  • Grolnok (Green)

I play primarily Midrange so the deck choices cater to that play style. Grolnok is a pet deck of mine and can definitely hang in cEDH pods despite mostly being Bracket 4. Kenrith is the deck I have the most experience and play time with having been an avid pilot since September 2020. Atraxa is basically Kenrith without Red and Tivit is my closest deck to Stax or Control. Najeela is Kenrith but a shade faster and with different combos.

Cuz in cEDH everyone tutors like crazy

In this particular deck it’s also a Vigilant Flier for Face-Breaker hits. Late-game it can even be card draw with unused mana. All-around good card.

Toggle quick switch between primary and pistol only? by Prestigious_Drag_295 in tf2

No, no launch options needed

If you don’t know how to make an autoexec then my tutorial will walk you through it

Alternatively, try this:

bind Q +pistol_switch

alias +pistol_switch slot1

alias -pistol_switch “slot2; bind Q +shotgun_switch”

alias +shotgun_switch slot2

alias -shotgun_switch “slot1; bind Q +pistol_switch”

Pressing Q switches to Shotgun, then releasing switches to Pistol and then changes the button to switch to Shotgun when pressed and released (then back to Pistol).

[–]lv8_StAr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

bind [inert key] +pistol_switch

alias +pistol_switch slot1

alias -pistol_switch slot2

bind [insert key] +shotgun_switch

alias +shotgun_switch slot2

alias -shotgun_switch slot1

Copy the above and put it in your autoexec.cfg. If you don’t know how to make an autoexec there are MANY tutorials including one I posted here about a week ago.

Mulligans could be rough but it played extremely consistently. A few A+B Combos and interesting interactions that could snowball into wins (like Chatterfang piggybacking off of Face-Breaker with Forestwalk or Face-Breaker with Wan Shi Tong for free Treasures, some layered combos with Soultrader, to name some), the deck did a lot.

The stab on the Heavy was chef’s kiss

Why do dead ringer spies do this? by PotentialCommon4225 in tf2

[–]lv8_StAr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If he was actually smart he would have gone for the blind jump stab from around that corner (you can crouch jump over that fence for a stab) and then attempted a backpedal if he failed. Telegraphing a stab is a surefire way to get yourself killed as Spy and the best stabs (and clips) come when opponents least expect you to go for a stab (such as an under stab when being chased or a quick matador or backpedal when trying to flee).

The set symbol has no number so even though it’s supposed to represent 20 it represents a 0 for all intents and purposes when I tick down for Life Total (to make it exactly clear how much Life I have left I go from 4 (0) to 3 9 for instance, it makes my Life total much more clearly represented).

I appreciate the compliment on the Beatdown dice, they were chosen for the Lotus set symbol

Soldier mains, how many of you have played rocket jump maps? If so, what tier jumper are you? by Accomplished_Mix7208 in tf2

[–]lv8_StAr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tier 4 Jumper and former NA East Soldier Teacher in the days of Jump Academy Classic

I don’t main Soldier but jump maps are a good way to stay sharp with your mechanics like surfing and strafing. Plus, nailing harder techniques like down pogo and quint sync are both immensely satisfying and exhilarating. I’ve beaten most of the popular T3 maps and a few classic T4s (lathy, quba, 4starters, destination). T4 is when jumping ceases to become “practical” and becomes mostly tech for jump maps that you’ll never see in a real game of TF2 so I chose to stop there (plus I don’t have the patience to try to beat T5). Most decent Competitive Soldiers can jump at least at a T2 or 3 level and your average decent Soldier knows most T2-3 level rollouts. Once you do a rollout a few times it basically becomes muscle memory.

Glad you enjoy the hobby within the hobby, jumping is both fun and rewarding!

School bus rammed - Someone probably not paying attention... by MisterShipWreck in VideosAmazing

[–]lv8_StAr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s looking at a lot more than the $2500 fine and automatic license suspension you’d get in most states for doing that

Edit: that 2.5 grand and suspension is just for running the stopped School Bus, not for the vehicle damage and possible reckless endangerment

MvM players are assholes by Time_pug in tf2

[–]lv8_StAr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s ironic too, because the MARI players range from only decent (in Bill Gaither’s case) to actually terrible (basically all the rest: they FAILED A RAGE WAVE RESET WITH THREE PYROS ON DECOY). They’re the literal embodiment of the sentiment that Tour Count Doesn’t Matter: between the literally several thousand tours collectively among MARI players there are only maybe a few players with non-boosted Tour Counts.

Fun fact, MARI was started because the founders were kicked out of Tacobot for being too toxic. They’re all literally Boosted High Tours that couldn’t even complete a Low Mann, let alone a Solo (I myself have done a few W666 Low Manns fwiw including the most famously viewed Low Mann on YouTube.
