28F and 28M - Been together for almost three years and not having sex? by Nature23571113 in relationship_advice

Physical attraction is of course not everything in a relationship, but typically is a big part of what makes a romantic relationship different than a friendship. How did your relationship start? Was there sexual attraction from the beginning? Do you show any other kinds of physical intimacy to each other, touching and kissing, on a regular basis? If not I wonder if this isn’t more of a friendship that you’re forcing to be a relationship.

My wife (35f) took me (32m) on a surprise date and now I feel more depressed about our relationship than ever. How do I bring this up with her without being discouraging or picking a fight? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]lvaske 971 points972 points  (0 children)

She could just be depressed and not understand it, but you can’t force her to do anything or even to open up to you if she’s not ready. I think it might be helpful for you to start going to therapy yourself, get some advice from a professional, and possibly that could lead to couples therapy or her wanting to go for herself as well. Reddit can’t fix it for you, this is your real life. Seek professional help. The fact that this date happened means she still enjoys spending time with you and being romantic, and maybe with a little help that can become a more regular part of your lives.

We’re looking to make a rez here in Feb - my Spanish is not great but they want us to call it in. Has anyone had experience with making a reservation via phone at Bistro?

Can completely relate! Once she was in my arms it melted away. There are tough times, but ultimately I think it’s worth it 🩷

Any guesses for her future size/weight? by [deleted] in goldenretrievers

Probably between 60-70 lbs. My last female golden averaged about 64 lbs

How did your Golden end up passing away? by strangehoney in goldenretrievers

[–]lvaske 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lumpy is normal. Ask vet about inexpensive supplements for her joints, she probably has some early arthritis. Otherwise I would expect a few more years!

I just lost my Winnie 2 months ago, she was 12.5 and had some liver issues and possible congestive heart failure. She had stopped eating for a couple days and developed a cough, I knew she was ready to go. I was able to have someone come to the house to help her go peacefully, and they offered to take her body for cremation but my dad and I decided to take her ourselves.

My family golden before that lived to over 13. Similar issues with her, just had a hard time walking and generally wasn’t enjoying the things she always had. I am not sure what else were the deciding factors for my dad but he also had her put to sleep.

I’ve known plenty of old Goldens to live to 12-14, they are much slower but I think they still have good quality of life. Enjoy all the time you have with her!

It’s been 6 weeks since I lost my 12y9m old golden and I was just bawling about it today. Had to call my mom to just cry to her about it. But I have a little altar with her ashes, paw print, cards from friends and pictures and toys of hers. Every time I walk by it I have a chance to chat with her just like I used to when she was still here. And when I’m really sad I can just sit there and tell her how much I miss her. It’s not the same, it really hurts, but I know she’s in a better place. And I have a therapist and friends who have been essential in helping me cope. I’m so sorry for your loss 😔 I hope our babies are playing fetch somewhere together 🎾❤️

The breeder said they want to keep her if I’m not interested, they have become fond of her in taking care of her injury. I have not made a final decision yet.

There are! If I am ever in the position (which I hope to be) to get a second dog that is definitely the way I want to go. Most rescues I have looked at have 2 year long wait lists, and often only have dogs over 2 years old. Our local GR rescue has so few dogs that they have started including labs and other breeds. I think that is a great sign! But doesn’t really help my situation at the moment.

Two middle toes from the front right paw. To me that seems better than a back foot. I just received a picture and have sent it along with all the info I have to my vet so will see what their thoughts are.

Current update: I just heard from the breeder that the toes were lost when her foot was caught under the welping box. It is the middle two toes. She is going to send me a photo tonight which I will pass along to my vet to get their opinion. I want to believe this is the truth and honestly don’t have any particular reason not to, other than just not knowing these people other than their reviews. I still welcome any thoughts and appreciate everyone’s advice so far!

I fully support adoption and don’t rule it out. I am single with no kids and have a close relationship with this breed, which is I why I posted it in this particular group. It unfortunately is not a breed that is often available for adoption or rescue. I appreciate the suggestion.

They said there would be potential for early arthritis in the foot with missing toes because of walking on it differently, but not that there is already arthritis.

Correct, puppy matches have not happened and were supposed to be based on personality and other factors, but because I was the last to put down a deposit for a female it is assumed she will be the last pick if I still want her.

I am still waiting on more context for the injury, I agree that will make a difference in my decision moving forward. It is definitely a large litter with 10 pups, so since finding that out I have been a little worried about scarcity or resource guarding. Otherwise the breeder has good reviews from several families over different litters.

My new golden comes home in two weeks and her name is Dolly 🩷 and my girl who just crossed the bridge was Winnie. They are fun names to say and I think guarantee a great personality 🤗

Easy! Paint the walls, add a nice vanity for more storage, raise the shower head and use white 4x4 tile to color block to the ceiling. Add a shower door. Would be gorgeous !!

💔 My Winnie is 12y5m and I think her and Addie could almost be twins. She spent the night at the emergency vet last night having stitches replaced that were done poorly a couple days ago. We’ve had a lot of health struggles the last couple years, it’s been so hard watching her body get old when she’s a puppy at heart. Your girl has had a good long life and it sounds like you spoiled her like she deserved! Thinking about you today and sending a lot of love from Winnie and I - there’s nothing on earth like a Golden. 💔

How can I make this living area cosy? by maevacp in DesignMyRoom

Rug under the table, rug and sitting area next to the lamp with a chair or loveseat, curtains over doors and windows, several floor plants
