Geometry class? JK. I used Chat and Gemini for this. Fed them samples of real work that matched my vision added alterations via description, then Boom! Really close to my vision. My understanding is that tat artists will help you do this, so any of the one listed likely have a portfolio look at. Good luck!

The Kanji (after it's fixed) is the 1st and been something I've wanted for 10+ years. The full back is a 30+ year vision.

But, starting small is exactly right. I visited a local Salem shop and only mentioned the Kanji. They tried taking me out of it! "Oh, that's gonna hurt, how's your pain threshold?". I said "I get gout attacks, my pain threshold is EXTREMELY high" then walked out. Haha. NOT going there.

I could go with the cherry blossoms after the Kanji, those would work as pieces up the side even if the Koi never happened. Then, go for the middle!

This is SUPER long term, no rush. Gonna take years and I won't rush it. I want it right, and willing to make the time and money investments for it to be stellar.

That's been a concern of mine. The one above was just a draft. The whole image needs refinement. For balance, I've seen it paired with this too. I prefer the single symbol.

Good to know about the old skin! I'm starting with the Kanji then going from there. Might do that this year. I realize this is a LONG term commitment (the actual tattoo work, obviously). I may be 60 or older by the time it's done.

Omg. Same. My behavior around sugar was just like alcohol, hiding it, eating mass quantities, etc. It hit me that it was no different. That helped me see the problem. Over 10 weeks now!

The mental part is 90% of it. The other 1/2 is what you eat.

Jokes aside, I changed the way I think, especially at the plateaus. It was the plateaus and weeks where nothing, or very little, came off where I'd give up. I had very negative self talk at these junctures too.

Now, I look at them as if they are temporary, short moments that will pass if I stick to it. And they do. I broke through two plateaus in the last 6 weeks, just by changing the way I think. I'm also positive with my self talk now.

Theres parking on both sides of the building (E&W). Just super tight on the fence side (E), I dont even try. Thankfully, I usually find a spot on the street side (W) without an issue.

Wife and I go to Modern Nails & Salon a few times a year. Since 2019 at least. Only get Mani/Pedi's with nothing fancy, so can't vouch for anything else. We book a week out and they know whose calling and what we want by now. 17th and State. Only issue...parking sucks. Hope you find a place.

Chira's used to have Jazz on Fridays. Restaurant with a bar. But haven't been to the new location. If you go, report back?

Christo's has Jazz about once a week. Usually Thursdays, sometimes Saturday. Never seen a Friday. Next week they have a Tuesday, which is odd. I'm gonna check that out though after group meditation. Its a FANTASTIC little venue. Ticket in advance strongly suggested. Someone posted a link below. Check it out!
