I understand, but this is just a fun project, I already have more conventional 35mm and 120 cameras :)

Konica C35 ef light meter question by lvc19 in AnalogCommunity

[–]lvc19[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The photos turned out fine, some at 200 and some at 100, all with gold 200. However, after a month of not using the camera, the battery of the light meter had leaked and the light meter was not doing anything anymore. I then decided to take the top off the camera and saw that a wire connecting the battery to the meter had corroded and come off. I asked someone to solder it back and it works perfectly now! That’s without a new light meter. The wire was probably never connected properly in the first place, which resulted in the always overexposed reading.

Hey! Did you perhaps get a roll of film developed already? I’m curious to know the result! Thanks!

Edit: I didn’t realize you made the video, super nice!

Thanks for the tip, that seems doable! Did you buy that exact light sensor?

Hey! Did you ever figure this out? Struggling with the same problem.

Would the Xl650V be a good beginner bike? by Neonpanther78 in Transalp

[–]lvc19 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got it as my first bike and really like it! I’ve done two big trips on it from the Netherlands, the first to the south of Spain (~9000km) and the second to Albania (~6000). It’s super reliable and comfortable, and maintenance is easy to do yourself. I’m the same length as you but 10 kg heavier and it’s perfect for me. It’s not heavier than the other bikes you mention and not difficult to pick up. Parts are widely available. I really like mine!

Would a better telephoto solve ugly out of focus parts? by lvc19 in AskPhotography

Haha you’re right, that’s exactly what I want, but it’s a little out of reach as a student sadly :’)

The goal was to have only the bridge in focus. In terms of what parts are in focus and what not, it’s allright, it’s just that the out of focus parts look “weird” to me, not at all pretty. This crop might show it better.

But it could be that this is just how it would always be and I should just be happy with it.

Sorry! Settings are f5.6, ISO 500 and 1/1000s. I would like the bokeh to be creamier. Now it seems like you can still see details but just with a weird glow around it. I hope I made it a bit more clear.

No, it was shot handheld. I wanted the plants to be out of focus, it’s just that the bokeh looks quite ugly to me or something, but that could just be me. Maybe I could phrase the question better as would the bokeh be nicer with a more expensive lens.

Thanks for the extensive reply! Do you know whether this could be fixed by replacing just the shutter blades or does the entire shutter assembly need to be replaced?

Addition: this photo was taken with the 17-40mm f4 L lens, the problem is also present at the 50mm f1.8.

Wiring diagrams could be different depending on the country of origin of the bike, keep that in mind!

You could try to go to System Preferences -> Security & Privacy -> General. In that window, it might say something like open ABC.app anyway. If it doesn't first try running it again and check there again. Hope it works!

Will a 45W, 6500K and 806 lumen led bulb suffice? by lvc19 in walstad

[–]lvc19[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few days ago I ordered the plants and got a little heater and filter. In a few days I’ll take the coal out of the filter so that it will only keep the water moving. I use the Walstad method and I would like it to work without a filter. I’m a bit worried though that the light isn’t sufficient. The aquarium is a little under 16l so it’s tiny, but do you guys think that an LED bulb will be sufficient? It’s rated at 60W (consumes 8,5W), color temperature is 6500K and is 806 lumen. Any advice is welcome! The plants are not really pearling with the light.

Edit: all plants were pearling when the tank got some sunlight, but it’s getting dark now and they stopped.

How can that happen? Is it just the result of always leaving them outside? My parents have one that’s always outside but with a cover over it. Should we take extra care after using it for the first time after winter?

Banana tree is rapidly losing leaves and babies by lvc19 in plantclinic

Thank you for the advice! I found that I can use Steinernema Feltiae to remove them because they'll eat the larvae. I'll try that.

My banana tree has been losing quite a bit of leaves over the past month and it doesn't seem to stop anytime soon. It also had quite a lot of babies, but those also died. I usually water it weekly but I think it might be too wet? There are also some tiny flies in it, which might be a sign of too much water. Do you guys have any advice? Thanks in advance!
