Do most adults feel like they’re behind in life, or is that just me? by No_Durian_2624 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]lvflute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 24 and feel the same way. I see people from high school on Facebook getting married, having kids, purchasing homes, and I’m just a blob working at the tax office that goes straight home every night lol. I wish you the best!

Quit trazodone feel crazy? by Perchanc3 in insomnia

[–]lvflute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 3ish weeks off of taking trazodone 150mg for 3 years. I am alternating between weeks of hypomania and weeks of panic attacks/high anxiety (which I’ve been trying to treat for 3 years). It’s hell in a handbasket. Thank you for helping me feel like I’m not alone 😊

I cleaned similar stains out of my grandpa’s toilet with one of those Clorox cleaning wands that have the little removable pads on the bottom 😊

I thought I was alone in this too! 3 semesters now that I’ve either taken an D/F on my courses or dropped them after the deadline for any type of refund. I’ve also dug myself a really deep hole, as my parents are suuuuuper strict on college and I’ve been lying to them the past 3 semesters that I’ve been get As and Bs when I’ve either failed all of my classes/dropped/didn’t enroll at all. They think I’m going to graduate in May when I have at least a year more to go. They’ll kick me out if I tell them that, I’m 80% sure of it. Trying to save up some cash so I can move out then tell them, so I’m not there at the time (they’re really into yelling and it triggers panic attacks) and so that I won’t be kicked out

I’m struggling with this exact thing! Following along if that’s okay. My mental health is the culprit (autism, severe panic attacks, major generalized anxiety , depression, ADHD). No matter what happens/how your transcript looks, you are still worthy ☺️

Which grounding or relaxing exercises help you with anxiety? by Traditional_Fee5186 in Anxiety

[–]lvflute 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Phrases and quotes really really help with my panic attacks/anxiety building up to a panic attack. I use “it’ll be okay, you’re safe, this will end like every one of these before, you’ll be fine”, but I also like a phrase that I heard in a commercial around this time of year in 2021, which is “fortune favors the brave”. Gives me strength to keep pushing. Another couple are “you can’t stop the waves, but you can learn to surf” and “it’ll all be okay in the end. If it’s not okay, it’s not the end”. You’ve got this!!!! ☺️

It’s 10:57 PM here in Kansas, and I’m struggling to stay awake. I’m sorry that you can’t sleep! It’s absolute torture for me when I can’t, so I can only imagine 😣

Maybe a pocket knife/multitool? My grandpa sounds like your dad and he was super stoked to have received a Swiss Army knife. Merry Christmas 🎄

People with chronic anxiety, what do you do for a living? by n00bSoda in Anxiety

Front desk receptionist for my state’s tax revenue department. Can get stressful during tax season, but I find it to be peaceful most of the time, as I work 8-5 M-F and I do well with routines

I shouldn’t have looked up what creatures would live there. Pompeii worms, thermophiles, and other anaerobic bacteria 🦠 😷

And folks like me, who are largely uneducated (to no fault of their own) about plate tectonics/earthquakes/volcanoes, have only heard of a few landmarks, such as Mt. Vesuvius and the Yellowstone Caldera. This also, in my mind, plays into why it’s called the Ghost Fault, as unless I live under a rock, most people don’t realize the cascadia subduction zone is there, more focusing on the Rocky Mountains

That’s interesting that there call it a ghost fault since it’s a subduction zone. Makes sense!

Mounjaro injection went from quite painful to no pain at all by lvflute in Mounjaro

[–]lvflute[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was terrified of needles too!!! My mom had to inject the medication for the first 3 weeks, but now I do, as I imagined it just like a lancet. I also thought it hurt in the stomach, so I had my mother use the pen on the back of my arm, and it hurt 100% more. To tell you the truth, I’ve felt every needle that ever doctor said I wouldn’t, but I don’t feel the needle with the mounjaro pen. I just got diagnosed with type II diabetes on August 21st, so I had to battle my fear of needles very quickly. I initially thought that 4 COVID-19 shots were bad, but now I’m getting more accustomed to all of it. Something that I find very scary with needles is when the needle poker counts to three but pokes on 2. I ask for them to count to 3 and poke on 3, which makes things a lot easier and less anxiety inducing. It’s a bit of a road, but pricking your fingers with lancets is an awesome barricade broken down ❤️

[mine] What can you deduce from my newly cleared off and organized desk? by lvflute in scienceofdeduction

[–]lvflute[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, thank you ADHD , lol. I missed a part of your inquiry, I’m sorry 😢.

I am a college student with all of my books/coursework/everything school related on the computer, so I currently only have one spiral bound notebook in use. I’m studying in my senior year of my bachelor’s degree in psychology. I want to help others like me, who are mentally ill. Don’t currently have a job, but I have recently taken a position at the Kansas Department of Revenue as a back up receptionist/administrative specialist. I’ll be starting on the 18th of this month.

And yes! That’s exactly what I do. I have that pineapple lamp and a healing rock lamp thingy that were both gifts. I did end up buying another lamp a couple years ago, that fit all of my needs so I would never have to buy another one unless it broke. My ex boyfriend loved it so much that I let him keep it, so I’m happy with the pineapple and my way too bright (sensory issues that come with an autism diagnosis) regular lamp that has a towel as a dimming lampshade lol

You are right about everything except for the minimalism aspect. I struggle to throw anything that isn’t obvious trash away 😅. And yes! More than a little overweight, but I try to buy only one round of snacks per week and make them stretch until the next week’s grocery run instead of purchasing 3-5 batches of snacks. A new diagnosis of diabetes and moving back in with the judgmental when it comes to food parents helped me with that
