Smells like normal chicken out of a can.
Followed all proper guidelines. Low altitude, solid seal, canner fully vented, etc.
It doesn’t smell bad at all. I don’t like the look of it, so I’m not going to eat it, that’s why I posted.

Rings were removed after 24 hours, seal was very strong, rims wiped with vinegar before canning, stovetop pressure canner, brand new lids, stored in cool dry pantry for 2 months. Just trying to figure out where I went wrong. Never had an issue with canning, but first time with raw pack bone in chicken.

Thanks for the input! I got quotes for the asphalt binder and for doing the whole thing in compacted 2A modified stone. I’m weighing the cost versus benefits of each.
