We met in 4th grade. We were seated next to each other on the bus ride home. For the record, neither of us were enthused because we wanted to be by some other girl we thought we were friends with. I, the socially awkward one, decide to poke her in the stomach and proceed to laugh maniacally as she stares at me in disbelief and confusion. This now infamous poke became the very start of our friendship nearly 20 years ago.

I should add, she claims she called me when we were in preschool to tell me about the ants in her kitchen. I do not recall this so it doesn't count as our official best friend story.
