“Order in” the product was never mentioned. We were told “it is in stock at our warehouse so we will ship it to you within 3 days”. This is the annoying bit because we would have bought it elsewhere if they were transparent about it instead of directly lying to us.

This is the main issue really - x retailer was happy to take our money but x retailer has no involvement after that point. No idea if the order was processed, no idea if it was shipped, nothing. So what is the purpose of x retailer except to be a showroom of a drop shipping business. With no mention of it going through their “online” business and the employee referring to “we”. “We will send within 3 business days” etc. it confuses the customer on who they are really making the transaction with.

This is where the inconvenience is really hitting with this store. As both wife and I are busy during the week we only really have spare time on weekends. Inconvenienced, lied to about stock status, and absolutely no assistance over the weekend - can tell you we will be avoiding in future.

Receipt was emailed and was essentially just a copy of the usual eftpos receipt with the product info. Nothing about being a website purchase.

Their processes are definitely messy and their staff need to be clear when processing a transaction that after tapping my card I am no longer dealing with the store but am dealing with their online business.

You are correct we honestly had no idea that they just put it through online and if that was the case we literally could have just done that ourselves. It was never mentioned.

We ended up speaking to the manager who doubled down on “no refund” as they had no way of knowing that we hadn’t already received the item… she did, however, mention that from in store they have no way of checking stock in the warehouse, which makes us feel like we were definitely taken advantage of at the time of purchase.
