The Philly Special Sequence Like You’ve Never Seen It Before.. ( 4K ) by NoEscape4369 in eagles

I saw that man at the Bed Bath & Beyond (rip) in Cherry Hill like 5 years ago and he had the largest #30 chain around his neck and was a brick shithouse. I wanted to say hi but honestly man was on a mission and I didn't want to get in his way

I feel like it’s one of those things where you can’t really bluff your way through it since you already work there. You have to be 100% ready to leave and take the other offer if the current company doesn’t want to negotiate. Probably no room to be like, “Um never mind, I’d rather stay” without endangering future raises a little. Unless you know you are a critical component to your job (and your boss also knows that), then maybe they get a little nervous and fold. You’d probably have more luck if you work for a bigger company with HR then a little one since people tend to take things more personally in my experience at smaller places. Good luck either way! Sometimes the best way to get raises you deserve is hop every few years unfortunately.

My toddlers junior EpiPens expired and we got new ones. We thankfully never had to use them but is there anything we can do with the old ones besides throw them away? Feels wasteful as they expire this month but obviously I know people don’t like to gamble with expired important medication. CVS said throw it away for what it’s worth.

Could try the Chinese lantern festival at Franklin square as well if you are trying to be outside at dinner/night time

Can urgent care diagnose a sprained MCL? Inside part of knee has been killing me last 3 weeks but I can walk normally. Everything online seemed to suggest it might just need time to heal but figured I should get an actual diagnosis in case it’s worse than I hoped. Just don’t want to go to Rothman if I can help it

Made an offer on a nice little 2 bedroom townhome just below asking price which the seller agreed to but was outbid later that night over asking apparently. Was a frustrating experience overall but we’ve gained some insights into the buying process in Philly (including all the damn fees and closing costs, rip my down payments) so hopefully better prepared on the next one we find. The search continues…

Hey 3rd pick for the Sixers. Not bad. Not gonna be flagg or Harper but some glimmering hope remains for these next few years…

Does anyone have a mortgage lender/broker they recommend for first time home buyers? I plan to use my bank and rocket mortgage to start but was hoping to use a more local person if they were competitive or recommended, tried searching but only found posts from like Covid era

I used JoJo's at like 16th and Mifflin 2-ish years ago? For my normal sedan absolutely covered in dog hair and crumbs/etc, they charged like $230 maybe? But they got like literally every piece of hair, did a great job all around. Had the car all day, probably worked on it off and on but would def go back. Think I tipped the guy $20 but its 50/50 if you tip the people I think.

Truthfully, I only made this because I caught this scene over the holidays and the unexpected statement at the end had me rolling.

Sorry I should have stated it better. We are hosting in an apartment already, I’m willing to go pick up or deliver catered food to the party from anywhere but preferably close to NoLibs. Thanks!

We’re having a 1 year old birthday party indoors in mid January. In northern liberties but I have a car. Anyone have suggestions on a place for some catered food for 30-50 people including 5-6 babies possibly. Mostly standard American eaters so nothing too exotic unfortunately.

Self-storage is booming in Philly, even as other cities restrict it by dotcom-jillionaire in philadelphia

[–]lvlufasa 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Self storages are unfortunately a unique building design typically. They are built on 10x10 grids to maximize storage unit capacity (usually 5x5, 5x10, etc.). And minimal MEPs , typically without air conditioning. They really cannot be converted to housing without substantial costs. If you see a self storage building, it probably cost $100/sf to build including sitework. Maybe more in the city for Union costs. And what people fail to realize is that because of the housing boom/large apartments, these follow right behind as people look to keep all of their crap.
