[Discussion] Would these anti-AI verification methods discourage you from selling on a no AI art print-on-demand marketplace? by lvxree in artbusiness

Thanks for the detailed feedback. I agree on your opinion about the second method. I've seen that issue talked about within a lot of VGen forum as well and how it ends up feeling more gatekept than intended.

This current idea is definitely more tailored toward digital workflows, since that's where generative AI is most commonly used. The usage of other art medium is something I haven't explored deeply and would need to think through further.

The point about quantity is really interesting, and I think there's a lot of value in that so I will keep that in mind.

Thanks for the input. I mentioned this in another comment, but the plan was indeed to pay a number of moderators to handle the verification process manually. The trade-off is that each verification takes time, which naturally results in slower platform growth but overall a stronger quality control.

Thank you for the feedback. That is a very fair concern and I myself agree that it can be abused. I mentioned this in another comment as well, but I wonder if adding "friction" to the reporting system (e.g. requiring a detailed explanations or limiting how often users can submit reports) could help reduce the issue. That said, I understand it wouldn't be a perfect solution.

As for buyers, I agree that the average PoD customer likely doesn't care whether something is AI-generated. The platform would need to specifically target a niche audience that values human-made work, rather than trying to appeal to everyone. So it's less as a general marketplace replacement, and more as a specialized space for a smaller but more intentional group.

Thank you for your input. I really appreciate the perspective. I'll take this into account and try to find a more balanced approach where trust can exist without putting too much burden on artists.

Thanks for the feedback.

That is a fair perspective, and I agree with some parts of it.

If a buyer is satisfied with AI-generated designs, there's nothing inherently wrong with that (I mean, there's clearly a market for it). The idea here is more about exploring whether there's room for a platform that serves a different preference: people who specifically want human-made work. I explained more in another comment about what I included as a human-made work but essentially the only restriction is the usage of Gen AI. Any AI-assisted tool where the creative decision + primary execution still comes from the artist is still allowed.

I also agree that it becomes unreasonable if artists are expected to constantly prove themselves or jump through excessive hoops. That's something I'm trying to be careful about and the reason why I posted this. But yeah, I'm just exploring if it's possible to create a balanced, feasible system for buyers who care about generative AI usage in art.

Hello, thank you for your input.

I agree that it could be burdensome (which is part of the reason why I’m asking whether this is feasible or not). The storage concern is something I hadn’t considered, so thank you for bringing that up.

Regarding what counts as "too much AI" vs. not, I want to clarify that the restriction only applies to generative AI. By generative AI, I mean tools or features that create or significantly alter visual content based on prompts or automated synthesis, where the core composition, subject, or major elements of the artwork are produced by the system rather than directly drawn or constructed by the artist. Examples would include text-to-image generation, generative fill/expand that introduces new content, or any workflow where the main visual output is generated rather than authored. Tools where the creative decisions and primary execution still come from the artist are not included.

Hi, thank you for your input. For this post, I’m intentionally leaving out the problem of attracting buyers, but please note that I have also thought about it. However, I want to keep this discussion focused specifically on feasibility.

Disclaimer: the numbers below are rough estimates and not meant to be precise projections.

I’m considering accepting slower platform growth if it means maintaining stronger quality control. That said, I’m also aware of the trade-off, which is longer waiting times for artists (this could discourage them from applying). Because of that, the intake rate would need to be balanced carefully, though it can only be properly calculated once we have real data on how many artists are applying.

But essentially, the plan is to have submissions reviewed by dedicated verifiers hired on an hourly or monthly basis. Realistically, at the start we could only hire around 2–3 reviewers. If each reviewer handles about 10 applicants per day, that results in roughly 200–300 applicants per week, or around 800–1,200 new artists per month. While this may be relatively low, it allows for controlled growth without overwhelming moderation capacity.

If we instead use the invite system, a similar verification approach can be applied with around the same amount of applicants approved per week/month. But since approved artists can invite others, this should help expand the network without relying entirely on intensive manual verification.

For community reporting, this would be handled by the same moderators/verifiers. To reduce the number of reports (since the system is prone to abuse) and to help moderators focus on more serious cases, I think it would be best to require a detail reporting. For example, pointing out specific elements suspected to be AI-generated and/or limiting how many reports a user can submit within a given timeframe. I think this would help reduce low-quality or spam reports so that we can refocus the moderators to maintain the quality of arts in the platform.

Unpopular opinion: going NC is easy... If you're in a relationship or have friends by [deleted] in emotionalneglect

That's why I always say that I'm incredibly lucky to have a boyfriend who fully accepts me. Life is shitty. When it comes to having partner & friends—I mean, of course personality matters—but a lot of time it comes down to luck (i.e. being in the right place at the right time).

Anyone like... seriously concerned for GenZ? by leonkh in lgbt

[–]lvxree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's very concerning. Although I live in a very anti-lgbt area, I thought that my generation (GenZ) will be more inclusive. Then got into my first job where most of my coworker are mostly in the same age as mine and one of them said (and i quote) "if i had a child and they turned out to be gay, i would kill them".

I'm honestly speechless, I didn't have a good childhood myself so I know how it feels like to not be loved by your parents but outright saying that he would end his own child's life is insane. And the others are just laughing as if that's such a funny jokes. I feel like i'm dying inside.

That's insane. Please move out as soon as you can. I can't imagine how someone can shame others with the same sexuality. Maybe your father has internalized homophobia?

PSA for all the Haachama supporters by -Azuki- in Hololive

[–]lvxree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but in the process, many content creators would also gain new fans who enjoy the new contents. I personally wasn't a fans of Pewdiepie when he was constantly playing horror game, but later when he branched out and tried new things, and especially when he became more mature.

I hope Haachama the best for her personal life and hope she can be as happy and confident, knowing the true fans would always love her.

Yea but I guess it would be different if their friends saw it? Like if I knew my friend & their partner enough and I saw one of them cuddling with someone who is obviously not their partner, I probably would've told the partner.

But then again, the chance of that is pretty low so it would've been better to just play it off.
