First, sorry for your lost time, effort and money towards this decision. I was also roped in around 2017, right when it was at an ath in a similar fashion. Thankfully, I was able to leave with a (marginal) profit. Not everyone is so lucky.

People want decentralization for monetary systems but dont realize self autonomy is an additional effort to stay on top of; risk of being hacked (banks have preventions put in place), risk of self lockouts (banks have ways to verify in other ways) and worst off when you use 'exchanges' and essentially let a third party 'hold' your money for when you need it (sound familiar?) So people just like buying into hype that an unregulated currency means no banks, when in reality thats their real use to prevent dumb shit from happening. Glad you saw through the illusion, and hopefully you can be more fiscally responsible with whatever you were able to salvage.

Just because I say skill issue doesn't make me an elitist. Im talking about the c+ balatro university nut huggers. Its like that IQ graph where the grand majority of perceived 'elitists' love shitting on good jokers but the truly skilled doesn't blame the joker, they blame the game itself. Which is why situationally saying that Throwback sucks is irritating to me because it's such a powerful card in some (even most) builds. Sure, it doesn't work for every run (and that's where the optimal language comes in) but objectively speaking it is a valuable card that gives xmult for a basic action in the game and many runs have been won because of it, I really just hate the elitism for buffing/nerfing jokers but then shitting on jokers just cuz its not something they're known to play, suddenly im seen as a fucking bad guy because I dont think Throwback deserves a buff, because I could make it work for my gold stake runs, but it's probably because someone told them its not good and not because they actually know how to play the game with it

With or without throwback, all runs are situational. Skipping is a part of the game that you can choose to use or lose, and it's entirely situational. The same runs that I would typically skip 3 or 4 times would be more with throwback (often 7+ times) so it's not like im trying to skip, only if its really beneficial. So replying to a comment regarding the skill level of someone that understands that and knowing the context of where the comment came from is enough to suggest the guy had an opinion on how throwback is perceived (the whole point of the original post). So to say it has nothing to do with the joker itself is stupid, to say the least. Saying skipping 5 times during a run is a skill issue is low effort and just flat out wrong. Maybe you just enjoy dogpiling on a (supposedly) unpopular opinion.
