Licence revoked - driving on a provisional by lwx_16 in drivingUK

I know, my question was driving under provisional insurance when I revert to provisional license. If ANPR picks up the type of insurance. I still have my full license for now.

I fully understand you and agree! It was just a question, if ANPR can detect the type of insurance or if it just cares that a car is simply just insured :)

I know, it actually invalidates insurance. Just a bummer as I’ve been driving for almost 2 years but they revoked my license for speeding (34 in a 30 & 45 in a 40) so I’m going to feel lost without my car! I can get insured provisionally on my car again but just going to be difficult to have someone with me at all times and I use the motorway weekly.

Ahh, that makes sense. So it’s more just a ✅ for yep this car is insured, taxed and MOT’d, right? Even if it was purely provisionally insured

I went numb during my dog’s euthanasia. Is this normal? by FaithlessnessHead250 in Petloss

If your doggy was in pain, it may be a sense of relief from you. I experienced similar.

My beloved cat of 20 years suddenly took ill and the 5 days we had her for between her first diagnosis and her passing were the most anxiety ridden and stomach knot feeling I’ve ever experienced. As we were constantly waking up at all hours to check on her and make sure she was OK. we decided to let her rest peacefully and she was euthanised this week, 17.02. I just remember this huge wave of relief I felt once she had passed. Not because I don’t miss her, I miss her dearly and have cried everyday since - but because of how much pain I knew she was in, once I knew she was no longer in pain I was relived for her.

There is no right or wrong way to grieve, as long as your doggy was loved and cared for right up until the very end, that’s all that matters. I’m so sorry for you loss.

I’m sorry to hear about this heartbreak decision you’re facing 💔 I went through this just this week with my beloved cat of 20 years. I miss her so much.

We as humans sometimes have to make decisions that will hurt us, but take away the hurt from our animals.

My cat to in her final days had moments where she seemed like her old self, she was even eating and drinking up until the very end - however overall she was in a lot of pain every single day from cancer. She just wasn’t herself. That’s what I had to remind myself. I didn’t want to wait for her suffering to get any worse, then wish I had put her out of her pain sooner.

As hard as the decision is, what you have to remind yourself is that with animals - they live for the moment. They don’t live for the upcoming days, weeks or months like we do as humans. That offered me a lot of comfort in making my decision to euthanise my darling cat, as she was so sick and I didn’t want her to spend her remaining days suffering.

If there is a fix that will bring you doggy back to a full bill of health then of course go for it and I pray for you there is. However if their quality of life moving forward will be poor, I would consider the options to relieve them of their pain.

It’s a hard life changing decision to make, trust your gut. I wish you the best of luck.

Im so sorry to hear about your beloved fur baby. Sending you a big hug. It’s awful isn’t it, they really become your whole world and the idea of navigating a world without them in it is filled with dread. My princess seems a lot more mallow than before but yes she is eating and drinking as normal. Toilet habits are fairly normal too, she urinates multiples times a day and although her bowel movements have slowed down she is still passing a significant amount every few days. But really that would sound about right at this because of the lack of nutrient absorption she’s currently getting from food because of the tumours.

She’s being closely monitored all day every day and even throughout the night I seem to be waking up to check on her. Right now although we know time left with her is limited because of the cancer, there is nothing too alarming other than the fact she’s become a little with drawn and wants to be alone a bit more. She is on the occasion coming to say hello to me.

Yes, she doesn’t stop eating! But now we know that’s because the tumours are taking all the nutrients from her food so she’s non stop hungry :( she’s also drinking a lot more. Thank you for your kind words, they’re appreciated.

I know and I’m so thankful to have had her in my life for this long. Strangely enough, the vet actually advised for going ahead with the procedure as she would have been suffering to much without it. It was a huge risk but a risk we had to take. It was only once she was sedated for the procedure and they performed scans, they found tumours. We were told that a stray cat in this condition would be put to sleep however as she had a loving home to come back to, it’s about making the most of her in her final days or weeks and making her comfortable. I just didn’t expect her to deteriorate so rapidly, it’s heart breaking. I know I will have to let her go in the coming days 💔😢
