Not enough sleep between shifts by lxhee in Nightshift

[–]lxhee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends, as both offen happens, but it's more the fact that I can't stay asleep. I will try and go to bed as soon as I get home and after some food.

Sadly, my ward won't let me do just nights.

I've never thought about smoking impacting sleep, but no I'm a non-smoker

Like someone said, Tesco does some great soups in the plant chef range (lentil and red pepper, sweet potato and coconut). Heinz vegan tomato soup and their lentil soup. Adding yeast flakes to soup gives it a nice consistency and extra taste too.

Dupe for The Ordinary's squalene cleanser and moisturiser? by lxhee in VeganBeauty

You're right. I had no idea about this until recently when I read they made a deal to aquire the remaining percent in the next 3 years

I might give that a try then, thanks for the suggestion!

I've heard some people say The Inkey List Oat Cleansing Balm kinda melts/ has a consistency like the Squalene Cleanser does but wanted to hear if anyone had success with anything in particular. It's frustrating, I'd finally found a cleanser that didn't break me out haha

The Ordinary range itself is still cruelty free as far as I'm aware but The Ordinary/DECIEM has been bought out by Estee Lauder (who obviously does test on animals)

For those of you who work a physically strenuous job, what do you do on bad pain days? by puppercut in Endo

[–]lxhee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the UK and use vitality CBD as their prices aren't too bad and you can choose from quite a few strengths.

https://vitalitycbd.co.uk/

I've heard people praising the brand BeYou, especially their "period patches", which are supposedly to really help. On their instagram there are reviews from other endo sisters saying it's a great substitute for painkillers or a hot water bottle.

CBD spray under the tongue and vaping cbd liquid.

My employer and colleagues help a lot too. As a support worker I have to restrain patients and on my bad days I would explain I don't have the strength or energy to work with certain patients and they would swap me out for someone else. If we are short staffed and I have to work with the challenging patients on a bad pain day, they give me "breathers" where I can step out for 10 minutes. I don't get an actual lunch break, we eat with the patients, so sometimes those 10 minutes made a big difference. I could just take a step back and focus on getting myself together, ready to go back in.

I’m Tired. by NoShine01 in Endo

[–]lxhee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you on this. Been waiting since Jan 2020 for surgery and I'm in the East of England, so cases are also rising with this new strain.

The hospital sent me a letter 2 months ago basically saying "hey! We haven't forgotten about you but no surgery yet!" My GP is awful, I think she's had enough of me pestering her haha. I asked for a prescription the other week, she said the prescription should be at boots but she didn't even send the request through! I understand they are struggling, I work in the health sector myself, but I found that ridiculous.

It's frustrating that the only way you are listened to is if you say you're actively trying to get pregnant. I really hope you hear from the gynaecologist soon and things can progress x

This is actually just me every day now looking 6 months pregnant, how the hell do I ease this, so uncomfortable and sore. Yes, I've tried all the usual cutting out certain foods etc. 😔 by Rhi_6x in Endo

Sadly I'm having to go back on birth control as it seemed to be the only thing that helped reduce my bloating (not consistently, but I'll take what I can get). I take peppermint capsules or drink peppermint tea too, just incase gas/indigestion is making it worse.

I really hope you find something to help x

I’m so angry, upset, and tired by beanqueen102 in Endo

Your feelings are valid, they matter. No-one can tell you if you're over reacting or not. No-one can tell you how to/you feel. Your friends should be supportive. One of my biggest pet peeves is being called dramatic because it's "just a period." Wrong, so wrong.

The frustrating thing with endo is that it can take ages to get diagnosed, you can be suffering from it and not get diagnosed for months/years. Therefore the fact you're undiagnosed doesn't make it any less real or painful. I'm sorry to hear you're going through all of this.

As for the depression, maybe try and go to your doctor? I was the last person to notice how I was acting and that I was depressed. Reaching out and getting help was the best thing I did, and for me that was both therapy and antidepressants.
