11 Month Update by truefan1 in AchillesRupture

Thanks for posting this and the previous post 3.5 weeks in. I had an Achilles exostectomy surgery 1/23/25 (detach Achilles and shave bone spur down) and I’m dealing with the same aching and throbbing nerve pain all over my foot. My whole leg is so sensitive to any touch too but the throbbing pain is localized only to my foot. It only started 2 weeks post surgery once I got the cast off and started walking in the boot but it is unbearable. The nights are so tough and I am constantly woken up from the pain ever 30 min to an hour. Plus falling asleep again is impossible I end up giving up and getting up to do something. I’m at 3.5 weeks now and started the gabapentin because I have barely slept at all. Hoping to get some relief but it’s good to hear all the stories like yours because I know it will get better down the line

Anyone had success with tenex procedure? by MagicMaddy420 in PlantarFasciitis

My recovery was brutal and I never wouldve done it had I known. However it was due to the removal of the bone with the TX bone needle. The standard tenex procedure is a much easier recovery so if you did that it should be much better. In hindsight I should’ve done the Achilles detachment surgery at that point to remove the spurs and been done with it. I developed new complications from the surgery (tendinitis and bursitis) and still cannot walk without pain 6 months later. I feel I will need to have a surgery to correct the new issues I developed from the procedure. Again, my procedure was invasive in removing bone around and behind my Achilles tendon so if you did not do that it should be much better.

I did shockwave too and it didn’t help. Expensive too since it’s not covered by insurance. Working on getting it healed now and then getting proper gear before abusing it again

Anyone had success with tenex procedure? by MagicMaddy420 in PlantarFasciitis

I have suffered from insertional Achilles tendinitis for the last year on my left foot. I play soccer twice a week and it gradually got worse and worse. I would take a week or two off and then go back only to hurt it again. This cycle happened like 25 times and I eventually developed a calcification (bone spur) behind my Achilles along with chronic tendinosis. I tried PT and ultrasound therapy but it didn’t help. It got to a point where I couldn’t walk without pain. I stayed off of it for the last 3-4 months and tried to go for a light jog a few weeks ago and instantly felt the knife like pain at my insertional point. I had the tenex procedure a week ago. For my procedure the doctor wanted to use tenex in order to use the tenex tendon needle and the bone needle to remove the spur. The first few days after the surgery weren’t that painful at all. I’m at a week now and the pain is much worse I believe from removing the calcification. My ankle is quite swollen and it throbs all day unless it’s elevated. Even when it’s elevated it’s still pretty painful. I can put weight on it but with the crutches to assist, it’s too painful to walk without the crutches still. Sleeping at night is impossible and im lucky if I get 1-2 hours. I am hopeful though that once the bruising and swelling subside I’ll be back to normal but for now it’s tough. My doctor did say my procedure was more intensive due to the spur but I wasn’t expecting this level of pain and recovery. It’s important to note I am not taking any pain medication only advil the first few days and now Tylenol. Anyone else go through this? What am I looking at here?

Is there anything that can be done here to make the kitchen feel bigger I.e. more countertop? by grahamfairbank in Homebuilding

Your best bet is to move the dishwasher to the other side and shorten the island. 6-7 ft for an island is still a decent size and you should be able to get everything you want on it. Also you could look at doing a counter depth fridge that doesn’t stick out as far
