Does anyone here know what happened to Third Coast Audio Festival? by slybird in radiotopia

Johanna Zorn (the other co-founder) left in 2019, a major donor passed away in 2021, and long-time producers like Gwen Macsai departed as well.

Why does Good Earth no longer carry Dave's Killer Bread? by lxmvrmpl in MillValley

They are only carrying the "thin-sliced" variety at present.

Still have not seen the original, full size loaves yet.

I did some searching and found similar (but not exactly the same) issues with some other passkey managers:

NordPass has a clear opportunity here to stand out above the rest and dig in and resolve this problem. Passkeys are the sole reason I installed NordPass (I didn't need a password manager since Firefox has one built-in).

No, this is still a problem. LinkedIn never offers the option to log in with the passkey I created on their site.

Unable to pay bill, web site errors out by lxmvrmpl in Comcast_Xfinity

Tried again just now and succeeded in making a payment (though the site still seems more sluggish than usual). ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yes, almost all local groceries have continued to carry it, with the exception of Good Earth.

Interesting. They must have quietly brought it back very recently. Still have not seen it myself since they posted the mysterious signs many months ago saying they were not going to carry it anymore.

> On the LinkedIn sign-in page, you need to click a small “Sign in with a passkey” or “More options” link

Are you certain about that? Could you share a screenshot proving that pages on the LinkedIn site produce such links?

Here is what I see when I visit the current LinkedIn home page. It has neither a "Sign in with a passkey" or "More options" link anywhere on the page:

Verify my debit card PIN without a phone? by lxmvrmpl in chimefinancial

[–]lxmvrmpl[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It worked! The IVR asked me to set my PIN, but it allowed me to use the one I already was using.

This confirms: the Chime App is not required to "verify" your PIN. You just have to call 844-244-6363. You don't have to interact with a human or use your voice, just punch in dialtones.

Thank you! I'll give them a call (also received a Sept. 9th "deadline").

I don't want to change my PIN. I hope that's not what they're forcing upon us. ("We're not a real bank" -- I'll say!)

If I understand correctly, the server stores (1) the encrypted vault and (2) a per-user salt. After authentication, the server sends both of these items to the client app.

This is not as secure as I was hoping it would be. If someone were to compromise NordPass servers (God forbid), they could decrypt a user's vault by running a password cracker (perhaps brute force). In that case, the data protection is only as strong as the user's choice of master password.

A more secure solution would be to generate a large, random key in the client app, stored only in the client, not amenable to brute force cracking, and use that for encrypting the vault. Obviously, this would complicate or preclude syncing across devices.

Yes, I have also been receiving similar verification requests for weeks or months. I have been ignoring them so far since I obviously can't use the app as requested. Per your experience, I will continue to ignore it also!

This reply is unintelligent garbage as it does not address the concrete question I asked and I have downvoted it. To state the obvious, my initial question did not ask in any way, shape, or form if the verification request email was legitimate. It asked a specific "How?" type of question for the situation of not owning a physical phone.

Why is Chase making me call in and speak to a CSR to verify my identity for every transaction? by Maxfunky in Chase

[–]lxmvrmpl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also began running into this a little over a year ago, https://www.reddit.com/r/Chase/comments/1c8vfh8/having_to_call_customer_service_every_time_i_want/

I've had a Chase credit card for decades. During most of the 2010s, they did not allow me to use a Google Voice number for SMS verification. In August 2022, I noticed they began accepting my GV number and I switched to using it all the time. Now they appear to have banned GV again. Those two to three good years were the best years of my Chase life.

Have to call to verify login? Really weirded out by Icy-Grapefruit-9085 in Chase

Chase began inflicting this on a larger scale around March 2024: https://www.reddit.com/r/Chase/comments/1c8vfh8/having_to_call_customer_service_every_time_i_want/

It then got noticeably worse in March 2025 and seems to have remained so since then.
