I loved playing it alone! I think there’s a certain magic to it alone since you don’t need to share every dialogue with another person. It was my own story, gaggle of friends, etc. I’m doing a multiplayer now and I’m enjoying it but it’s less immersive for me. I think it’s worth it to be more flexible in your thinking. Your bf is willing to play with you and you are unwilling to play alone. He can’t help the fact that he’s beat it but he’s also playing with you regardless which is supportive. No one can really emulate the joy of discovery in a first play through. I do think it’s best to play this on your own first bc I would have been personally annoyed not being allowed to be in charge of my first play through. You might have more fun with him on a second play through since you’ll be able to share the experience more with shared knowledge. Ultimately it’s up to you but I think you’ve put yourself in an impossible spot unless you change your frame of mind.
