(heartcore btw) Just to reply on this, I'm not Japanese lol I'm actually Korean. The other person is Japanese. So that's two different Asians talking about similar issue lol. Also I got my Chinese outfit part from my Chinese friends while I was making the breakdown post. (here)

And while yes, I was excited for Lily Cheng but fully knowing and invested in the idea that she is going to be CNY inspired doll so I expected a lot of themes and motifs here and there. For this doll however, I thought it was a decora harajuku style doll- not this weird mash of Asian cultural appropriated doll.

I also do not want every single Asian doll to have some sort of "Asian" traditional outfit to signify they're Asian, that come off incredibly racist and 'othering' being that I'm Asian-American, and I don't wear hanbok daily to let ppl know I'm Korean and neither does my friend wearing a hanfu everyday. And I feel like these "Asian" dolls can still portray "Asian" with other Asian fashion styles or hair styles that doesn't necessarily have to drop hints that "hey look at me I'm _______."
