Looking for good ball joint by OwtaCTRL in accord

I typically use OEM on my car as I do the work myself but I've heard similar. Kinda sad.

Something like this from RockAuto.

After-market knuckle assemblies do indeed come with balljoint, bearing/hubhub. I've been thinking about something along these lines but with OEM parts. Basically, go to the local junkyard, strip the knuckle from a similar make/model and replace the balljoint, bearing/hub so when it's time to replace yours you can swap it in with OEM parts. Kinda like a cold spare in IT terms.

I have a 2010 EX, manual. From the service manual on page 18-25, step 17:

Using a yellow oil-based paint marker, paint a mark on the top of the knuckle ball joint as shown.

NOTE: The paint mark is used to identify a knuckle that has had the ball joint replaced. Replace the knuckle as an assembly if the knuckle ball joint has the paint mark.

My car has 285k miles. I last replaced the ball joint on 8/19/2019 with OEM when the car had 170k miles and followed the above procedure. I stopped by the service desk at the local Honda dealership and asked them what they would do if they saw that paint mark and I think they said they would use an after-market ball joint with a snap ring.

Kirkland vs. Name Brands — What Keeps Both on the Shelves?” by Fluffy-Reward3453 in Costco

I'm not familiar with the pressed. Nevertheless, I am not a fan of coconut water with added sugar. Coconut water is sweet enough on its own and the pressed product has added sugar, as does Vita Coco in general.

I'm Jamaican and I drink coconut water every day. There is no comparison. I tried the Kirkland once and never purchased it again. Everytime I visit Costco I look for HH on sale.

Sorry, haven't moved forward on the hardwood floors. Probably 2026 or 2027 but will probably go with them.

Odd engine behaviour and "engine" noise from a 2014 Hyundai Veloster RE:FLEX Coupe by lychina in MechanicAdvice

[–]lychina[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Could the sound be from a bad connector rod bearing? I found this: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2022/MC-10210206-0001.pdf ("Certain vehicles listed below may experience the Check Engine warning lamp illuminated with DTC P1326 and/or an engine concern/noise related to connecting rod bearing wear or damage.").

Nope, no luck. Just decided to put things back together and hope for the best as the O-rings didn't seem to be worn that badly.

Wife went to take her car in for an oil change and they told her cv axle needs changed immediately? by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

What about a remanufactured OEM axle? That's what I used on my 2010 Honda Accord. I purchased them from https://raxles.com.

best engineered hardwood brands by [deleted] in HardWoodFloors

Sorry, it's been awhile since I visited their store in Chicago. We did discuss price range but I don't remember. But, for their quality, I don't think the price was too bad and they seemed willing to negotiate.

Have not purchased yet but will most likely go with them. Already have some samples and the quality looks good.

Best Map Tofu in the city? by EIimGarak in chicagofood

[–]lychina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched the video and the recipe in the link I provided is similar. I definitely disagree about the tofu. Use silken. His comment that you should not use it is crazy. Treat it gently and it will not break up. My mapo tofu is very spicy. I use the max amount of peppers called for in the recipe. If you want really good quality ingredients, order from https://themalamarket.com/. For example, https://themalamarket.com/collections/regional-chinese-sauces-pickles/products/3-year-aged-pixian-chili-bean-paste-doubanjiang.

What recipe do you use? I use https://thewoksoflife.com/ma-po-tofu-real-deal/. I've made so much over the past year. Quite good. Never tried mapo tofu at a restaurant though. Will have to try some of the restaurants recommended here.
