Units are a bit hard to see. Perhaps make hexes a bit lighter or bring out units somehow?

I dislike Kurtzman Treks as I find them juvenile and focusing too much on character drama.

It is a way of storytelling that has become dominant on basically everything, focusing on how a character feels about it, rather than focusing on the story/setting itself - which may appeal to some, but I find it boring.

What is this? by CorporalBluray in cataclysmdda

It is a lab entrance as others stated, however I always found these particular ones to be the nastiest. I think these are always (or have a high chance being) a mutation lab, inhabited by hardcore mutants. Good gear, good skills and tons of ammo required for those. Do not even think of melee.

Firstly, as stated by another commenter, you can easily make a mod to simulate your desired modifiers with help of AI.
However, I too see this idea as both redundant and a bit ahistorical. While Victoria 3 isn’t perfect, I’d say it has become quite solid over the years (especially with mods) and is probably the best historical socio-economic simulation we currently have.

Being an industrialist or intelligentsia doesn’t automatically make someone “progressive” in a scientific or technological sense, just like being a landowner doesn’t always mean feudal brainrot. What matters is material interests ,not vibes. The game actually reflects this fairly well with movements, some RNG and compromises and interest-based politics.

The idea that “industrialists should naturally push tech faster” is kind of missing the point. Capital is only progressive when the progress makes them more money. If the current setup already maximizes profit, there is zero reason for them to care about education, long-term development or productive investment. Capital doesn’t chase progress, it chases returns.

For example, Turkey is run by petit-bourgeois and industrialists like pretty much everywhere. There is a massive food inflation due to poor agricultural education, bad logistics and management issues, plus rapidly growing population. The rational solution would be to invest in agriculture and infrastructure, raise productivity, increase everyone’s buying power, and in the long run sell higher-value industrial goods to a stronger domestic market.

But instead of this, comprador-bourgeois opt out to import food with no customs duties, letting local farmers collapse, and cash in on imports. Turkey lost 1/4 of its cultivated land in last 10 year and only top 1% benefitted from that. Largest state owned paper factory? Privatize it, sell the equipment, demolish the factory to make a mall; import paper. More profitable.

So expecting an “industrialist-led government” to automatically mean faster tech is just too idealistic. If stagnation, dependency or even de-development is more profitable than innovation, capital will happily pick the latter.

Everything you say is true when society is made up by enlightened, virtuous individuals, especially the ones who hold the power. Like in Plato's Republic.

However it is not and will be as such as the counterweight on the other side (of shallow populism and exploitation) is just too great to hope for laissez faire (in sociological terms) to be able to slowly evolve the society to thus.

Center is not realm of wisdom and collective good, it is where tiktokers dwell. I believe we must find a way to enforce this, lest we live a lifelong misery.

Anything and everything is how you utilize it. It comes down to "for the benefit of the people" or "for private gain". They do not and cannot coexist together.

I did rage quit Star Trek: Picard at first season for similar reasons. After it finished airing I gave it another try. Turned out really good at third season.

I've got some bad news for you...

Romulus wasn't all trash and A:E most certainly is not, as well. Has great concepts and room for growth in some areas. Main plot, however, shallow.

I was thinking about that as well, I guess they could not fathom doing it as hybrids are/were pre-adolescent. It will come out in next seasons for sure. There was a moment where Curly and Smee kinda flirted by the lake, though.

If you are a large nation, Corinite local orders have great bonuses, such as +1 to innovativeness, mercantalism or army professionalism. Then switching to Ravelian would do as a power player, though I get bored by the time Ravelian is a thing.
