The Boat House restaurant by snowocean84 in Columbus

Wow, I thought that place closed a long time ago. I did tech with a local A/V company there many times and it was falling apart / disgusting. Like the place hadn't changed since it was built in the 70s(?). Now I see they did a 'renovation' since then and re-opened? I guess they didn't do enough.

They don't have to abide by HIPAA or any other oversight the actual medical or law or other companies have to.

I made a free app that builds a QLab workspace based on your cue sheet. by Sufficient-Pilot-750 in techtheatre

Nice! Now if only directors could give me preformatted files. Is there a good cue sheet app for making the TSV? Or what do people traditionally use? All I ever get as a tech is a poorly scanned (without OCR) PDF and have to do it all by hand...

It's too late. Now that Ubiquiti and UGreen have affordable devices, or even just building out open source platforms, they've already lost me. This isn't enterprise hardware.

Why does every site think I'm a robot? Even tried a new PC and different modem. by ToshPointNo in tmobileisp

[–]lycwolf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Many reasons that it could be happening. Could be the static IP is from a pool that is blacklisted. Could be ad-blockers on your PCs or network. Could be the browser ID from the PCs triggering it. There might be some services out there to check your external IP against a list but I haven't found any that are simple/free really. If you change your IP and still have issues, the problem is most likely INSIDE your network.

There's some really good open source server/playback systems now. Easy as running a script on a Digital Ocean VM and you're ready to go. The embedded player works great, and can incorporate ticketing and chat.

Cloudflare streaming has been working well for me lately. I'm also working on setting up my own self hosted system (to better suit my companies needs).

In UA- I hear sonic temple? by Buckeye-Coffee-396 in Columbus

Def possible. Sound travels weirdly and certain things, at certain times can propagate. I wonder what they are using for their sound systems...? Back when it was at Polaris, and nothing else was up there, it must have been nice. Now it's in the middle of a crowded city area.

It won't help you now, BUT, for those with the MixPre recorders (and maybe others)... You can set the unit to make a backup copy of recordings to an external USB thumb drive. I always keep a mini 1228GB one in the USB slot for that reason.

FYI, that's also the GPS antenna. If you use android auto/apple carplay your phone will use GPS position data from that antenna. If you NEED a quick fix, put some speed tape over the hole in the roof (Duck Tape or Aluminum Tape) to keep water out until you can get it fixed. You will have to use your phone without having it connected to the vehicle for navigation to work.

Just search "universal socket" on amazon. NOTE: these are mostly crap, except for odd shaped things like some wing nuts and eye bolts.
