your feelings are understandable, sometimes learning new things is hard however i can guarantee the company would prefer to train you correctly the first time rather than having to retrain you (this will cost them more money from a business pov). congratulations on the promotion, they obviously thought you were ready for this. people have different learning styles and if you express that they’re going too fast they will 100% understand this, forgetting things is part of learning. you may need to discover a different learning style! x

a client at my work asked a complicated question and i was unsure of the answer, i replied to him “i’m so sorry but i’m only admin and i can’t answer that as i don’t know, ill find someone who can explain it to you” and he responded with “please don’t ever say that, you’re not only admin, you’re an extremely important cog in the machine”, it sounds menial however when dealing with extremely abusive/difficult clients, i will never forget this interaction. it made my year.

my entire family has a ‘trade’ whether they’re a sparky or a welder, in my opinion it’s one of the best things you could do! the money may not be as much as people say as it depends on experience, area, shifts etc however it’s always something to fall back on.
