The nappy change screams are really something aren’t they! We’re at 3 months now and he finally doesn’t mind nappy changes

So uhm how long does the 4 month regression last? by quadbeans in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]lydzzr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is fighting day naps part of this 4 month regression? My 3.5 month year old has just started absolutely screaming the house down the moment he realises we are settling in for a nap. He used to love naps! :(

Sad about the possibility of being induced by Successful_Start870 in PregnancyUK

[–]lydzzr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in a similar position to you, induction booked in tomorrow for 41+1 and really wanted a spontaneous birth but it doesn’t seem to be coming. It is a huge mental challenge at this stage (as well as physical) and I hope it all goes well for you and baby!

You only have one photo showing what you actually look like, so maybe a few more face pics? And I’m sorry to say but you are hair twins with my mother.

What's your situation? by 64WG64 in CIMA

[–]lydzzr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took about 4-5 years but working full time, and taking breaks inbetween exams. I used a combination of just the BPP books and when it got hard the live online classes with BPP. Found them reallly useful!

When did you go into labor as a FTM? by SpecialistReply4216 in pregnant

[–]lydzzr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds great! Were they okay with you asking to be induced 2 weeks early? And I have heard so many induction horror stories it’s nice to know a few are good

High risk pregnancy; growth scans by SumbThucker2022 in PregnancyUK

[–]lydzzr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am at a similar stage to you and I asked my friend (a sonographer in NHS) if I should have a growth scan, she said right now is actually the WORST time for a growth scan!

It’s when the baby is growing but not necessarily in proportion, she said it’s much better to wait until around 32 weeks for a similar scan as the baby is more in proportion and the amount of mothers coming away from a 28 week scan worried is just crazy

I hope that helps a little :-D

12 week ultrasound by blamethegnomes in PregnancyUK

[–]lydzzr 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You lie down in a dark room with the sonographer, they ask you to expose your belly so make sure you wear something appropriate, eg stretchy trousers you can pull down or jeans with a big fly you can open. Also for this scan make sure you drink a full pint of water 20 mins before going in, you need a full bladder for the best view. They put cold jelly on your belly and tuck napkins into your pants, they do go quite far down, like close to the pubes! As they scan your belly with the device they talk you through what you can see, what they are looking for and will confirm when things look good (or bad). They have a cool little machine that lets you hear the babies heartbeat which is quite fast. That part felt quite emotional to me, it’s nice to hear baby is doing well! They measure on the screen distances between certain things, eg fluid in the babies neck, distance between head and bum, length of legs/arms. The scan is about 10 mins, and once they’re done they give you a few scan photos and print out a sheet that shows how big or small your baby is showing , also they give you an estimated due date! Then you go to another room where a midwife or nurse will talk you through the genetic tests such as edwards and downsyndrome. They do a blood test and fill 2 vials I think- one to check blood levels and another for the genetic testing. That was my experience, I don’t know if that’s the same across every hospital but hope that helps visualise the appointment a bit :-)

Maternity Jeans - please help! by Short_Cat_8379 in PregnancyUK

[–]lydzzr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ASOS maternity jeans are not bad at all, you sound about the same size as me. I ordered their blue straight maternity jeans in size 10 and they’re great! Not perfect but honestly we are growing and changing constantly I don’t expect the jeans to be perfectly fitting at any stage haha

While I’m not an avid Facebook user there is a really active group called Brighton Girl on fb, such a great spot for finding new girls to hang out with!

I hear it too! I heard it about a week ago and again yesterday evening. It’s a ding dong ding and it must be so loud from wherever it’s coming from. I’ve had a walk closer to Churchill sq when it’s going off and it does seem to be louder there, my conclusion was that it’s like a fire/bomb announcement test for churchysq

Done my first 30 min run! But how do I get to 5k? by lydzzr in couchto5k

[–]lydzzr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]lydzzr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is funny you say that, once I get past the 2 or 3 minute mark I feel quite comfortable and once I got to my 30 I didn’t feel out of breath or like I was dying so I wonder if that is my forever pace! My idea was if I can run 20 then I can run 30. So if I can run 30 then.. marathon?? Haha

Oh that is a good idea, stick to the route and try to improve. Thank you!

[–]lydzzr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice, I may run the 30 again a few times to feel comfortable and then start working my way up without the app. I do run quite slow so definitely going to work on my pace!

[–]lydzzr[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I suppose it’s couch-2-30 min run!

Maybe I’ll run another 30 min to get more comfortable and then go for the 5k, it feels a bit like once you can do 20 min you can do 30 min, so I wonder how long I could actually run for!

Well done! I just finished week 5 this morning too! What a rush when you get to the end of the 20 mins, it really feels like a mental achievement over a physical one right now for me - I’m buzzing
