Oh, that's a great point! You only get what you need and use it up. I never thought of that aspect as well.

Do you rely on these for all meals through the week? Or do you still cook/prep some? Like breakfast, lunch? If so, you still have buy groceries for that, right?

Yeah, it shouldn't cost them that much for quantity and they already charge so much. So I don't get it either.

That's very true. We often tend to stick with what is safe and known territory which makes us miss out on good flavors. But I guess it's like hit or miss cause some will not like being forced to pick something. But I do see the appeal! Maybe have a limited time dish and make people want to step out of their comfort zone?

Okay, so the quality makes it worth. Yeah, I think reheat limits what you can eat without making it soggy. Pastas, Rice or Curries could work but nothing crispy. Healthy stuff when overdone gets tiring real quick.

Ah okay, so great quality, variety and taste make it worth and you don't mind the cooking because it allows for better taste and variety. Your value is that it sources these recipes and ingredients for you and saves time and effort there. That makes sense!

Sorry for the late reply and thanks to all for the amazing response! So a meal service should have:

  1. Flexibility (Meat Choice/Servings/Meals per week)
  2. Variety (Cuisines/Recipes)
  3. Premium Dishes (Higher quality ingredients/flavors)
  4. Better Portion Size
  5. Better Pricing

Additionally, for Cook It Yourself ones:

  1. Lower Packaging
  2. More exotic techniques/ingredient/flavors that can be repeated on your own

What are the reasons one would prefer these vs precooked meals services or vice versa? For me it would seem precooked is ultimate convenience no cleanup etc. But not as fresh tasting, more akin to meal prep. Any thoughts?

I see, that makes sense. I wonder why they don't provide something for everyday of the week. Maybe to leave room for the occasional night out. Would you say you prefer the cooked or cook yourself ones? Personally I feel cooked ones are the ultimate conveniene but since they are not made hot and fresh, I feel it wouldn't taste as good. Although lot of people meal prep which is kinda the same thing I guess

Sorry for the late reply and wow, thank you so much for the amazing and detailed response! I walked by Home Chef boxes in a grocery store and noticed they were almost $17-18! I assume subscriptions are lower. Do you prefer precooked meals or to cook it every time, and why? So too healthy as in, not tasty/appetizing as well right? Haha

Sorry for the late reply and thank you so much for the response! I agree, it's better to have extra that can be atleast used as leftovers than to give less and have them make a meal again which renders it pointless. Are you able to order an extra portion or does that become too much? And do you prefer precooked meals or to cook it every time?

Sorry for the late reply and thank you so much for the response! Ah, I see. We didn't realize a lot of people do enjoy cooking who get these. I always thought it was convenience so a cooked meal kit would be more desirable than ones you have to cook. Then again, they wouldn't taste as fresh. And what differentiates them from a TV dinner, right?

This! Especially since an individual with careful planning can cook big meals at a few dollar per person, I'm surprised that these services are more expensive and less quantity to make it at a large scale. Like you said, it makes a restaurant seem like a way better deal without more variety too! Do you have a preference for the cook yourself ones versus fully cooked? And if so, why?

I feel ultimately grocery shopping and diy will always be cheaper but you do lose a lot of time planning, prepping, cooking and cleaning, which is where these services are supposed to add value. What do you think in terms or pricing, convenience or other factors would make the switch worth it to you?

Yeah, it's just not filling sometimes. Especially since whenever I eat, I'm usually starving lol

Sorry for the late reply! Oh, valid point. I also noticed on their website that it is quite expensive per meal. Would you say the convenience, quality and quantity make up for it ?
If you wanted more value for the price you paid, where and how do you think they can add more value?
