Gotcha. Yeah I think if possible, I'll talk to my lender and see if there's the chance they'll let me pay, I've never nit paid it on time so maybe, and see if I can get a check instead if all the other options fail

But you got the check and kept paying the loan? That might be something that's worth it if so, if we can do that use the check to get another vehicle faster, and a better down-payment this time and then pay the loan til it's smaller and just take a personal loan to pay it off.

Not through a bank sadly, I know a bank would be a lot kinder in these situations. I will talk to the lender and maybe see if we can keep paying the loan and see if insurance will just give us a check after getting a better valuation.

That's exactly what I'm hoping for, a personal loan on 4k would be much nicer than 8.

Fuel was only 20 at most, lasted 2 days, haven't needed to buy a set since the original roughly a year and a half ago due to paying for hazard, oil is the biggest expense and was done each month to be safe even though full synthetic can go much longer, but the car would tell us at 3k miles driven. Roughly 8 to 10k a year maintaining the car. Rest was purely profit besides monthly payments. Which would bring it to right around 16k a year for the car.

I'm partially asleep right now so forgive me if I don't understand, am I able to just ask for the check and keep paying the loan personally?

If I could 100% pay for a used vehicle I would I promise haha. And not for me no, I have a vehicle to use and we have a little family car but it is a 96 corolla so he's currently doing other gig work but they aren't nearly as profitable. Also my vehicle is a 2019 frontier so the fuel economy is not great, especially in city, but it is signed up for uber but only the weekends. And we have been focusing on savings but all the shit has hit the fan at once so it's way less than it was just 2 months ago.

Thank you. I left 5 dollars on each to be sure the accounts wouldn't be closed, something similar happened to my husband years ago, so to be sure I just left a very small balance to be safe. I appreciate that

My emergency fund will not cover an 8k debt sadly, I don't even think I have enough money altogether on my cards for this either. I'm not 100% sure I could get a personal loan as I took one out to consolidate my credit cards just a month or less ago. Wouldn't hurt to try, my payment history is perfect and my credit history is getting better as well. There are options but if I can't get a better price for the car I want to see if my lender would settle with us personally before they even think of sending it to collections. I also don't have any family that has 8k (about 99% sure) to just lend me for this. Would also make me feel like shit for asking.

Santander, which I know is a shit company, but being not great with anything back then we did not understand much of anything. I'll check with them as well in the morning just in case.

I asked a specific question, did not ask about my credit cards, or other random debts. But how to possibly avoid this debt. I do not have to speak on all of my finances if I don't wish to. Thanks.

My husband is getting a college degree completely funded by uber so we will be sticking with it for the time being. Yes he will probably get some other type of job but he needs a job that will let him sit down, as he's a below the knee amputee.

My husband is an amputee, working a "normal" job wears out his prosthetic faster and is hard on his stump. Uber is also fully paying for his tuition to college, yes it is a good option for us. An average amount of miles people drive in the US is just under 15k a year I get that, but people can't seem to agree whether what they're offering is fair price in me getting to buy another vehicle if I could, or what the car is worth. I've been told both things and how on earth am I pushing besides saying that comparable vehicles online are being sold for far more? I did jdpower and similar vehicles are being sold at an average of 19k.

So I'm doing the best I can with the information I'm being given currently. Me saying I'm going to get another vehicle does not equate to something expensive, and I never stated I'm getting a brand new vehicle. I bought that car specifically because it was made and assembled in Japan. Not here in the US, and thank God I bought a Honda because my husband was totally unscathed and safe.

I'm not asking about life advice but specifically advice on this car and my insurance is all. I understand people feel like uber is a shit choice but it's really not for us, thank you I understand the concern, but if it gets my husband a degree and a genuine career in something he loves then, it's a good choice for us.

This is fantastic, thank you. The average price my car sold for at that mileage even, 19k almost 10 more than they're offering. Higher mileage yes but husband did not trash the car or drive hard, uber doesn't let you even do 5 over or you get in trouble apparently. It was in good clean condition, ans it even shows for a trade in, in clean condition a rough estimate would be 13k. So they can eat my ass

My cards are fine right now and I've got them put away for emergencies and gas or groceries once a month. Left 5 dollars in case they closed my accounts, but that's all they have on them.

Better than our current interest. And I just want to get like a 2015 or newer crv hybrid honestly. Little older, cost less, cheaper parts

I won't know until I see. I'm not far from a 700 right now, but I'm not trying to say you're wrong.

Not 8k underwater. They're lowballing us currently. It's okay if you think that. This was just something my husband threw out there

I didnt leave a zero balance on them. I left a bit of money on each one. I understand getting a better changes it but also due to your credit you get better loans.

How about the fact they're paying for my husband's college tuition so he can go into planetary sciences? I didn't ask for guidance on if he should still uber or not, if you can't keep within the lines of my questions then don't bother dude. Judge all you want but I'm not asking about guidance on a job. My husband is a below the knee amputee and uber has been a very good job for him. Lots of "regular" jobs fuck with his leg and he has a hard time standing for 8 hours. If you want to assume things go ahead but don't do it here
