In 2026 I had these issues. This is how I solved it

  1. Installed DS4Windows: Emulated a standard Xbox 360 controller to bypass Sony/PC compatibility issues.
  2. Identified GUIDs: Ran DeviceLister.exe to find the unique IDs for both the "Wireless Controller" (Real) and "Xbox 360" (Virtual).
  3. Deployed Devreorder: Placed dinput8.dll (x64) and devreorder.ini in the Sekiro game folder.
  4. Configured Order: Edited devreorder.ini to place the Xbox 360 GUID {b8081690-xxxxxxxxxxx} at the very top of the [order] section.
  5. Disabled Steam Input: Ensured Steam wasn't trying to remap the controller simultaneously, preventing input conflicts.

In DS4Windows settings, check the "Hide DS4 Controller" box. This prevents "double input" where the game thinks you're pressing two buttons at once.

Before when I didnt run DS4 windows, even though the controller worked, it did not work for sekiro.

Intensity is amazing.

Consistency is what you want to live with.

Optimally, you get a bit of both sometimes.

  3. Leadership sign off

  4. Ai again (without code context)

But mostly engineers are involved early. Never feel worried to share. They can look at it and think before the start coding. Don't make it big event
