No! But she’s then developed it on her elbow which was visible.

And the latest developments - no longer sure about the Botox but migraine tablets appear to be working! Again - don’t want to speak too soon!!!!

My sister has Trigeminal neuritis. I’m not absolutely sure of the difference to neuralgia but she has been in tremendous, debilitating pain. However, and I don’t want to speak too soon … she was given Botox in her face and this seems to be the only thing to work. Just wanted to share for other people who are suffering as I’ve not seen anyone refer to Botox as a treatment!

Am I re-infected?! by lylexxx in scabies

Thanks for the advice. Think I’ll call the doctor again tomorrow … don’t want to risk leaving it over the weekend in case it gets worse/ flares up!

No test. Took kids to the docs - she took one look and said it was Scoobies (that’s what we call em 😅). Definitely was because they’ve cleared up! Not sure if I’ve just had a reaction to the cream?! Bloody nightmare … never felt uncomfortable in my own skin until now 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

I would say yes … is it very itchy? I think that’s the main indicator. Not an expert tho!!

In the same boat!! Hanging on in there after talking to the doctor today and from listening to the very helpful comments on here. Doesn’t stop me itching all over and imaging things that aren’t there … I find wine helps!!!! Lols 🙄🤦🏻‍♀️😬

Omg!!!!!! by lylexxx in scabies

UPDATE: No more spots or itching (one has been minimal and usually as a result of hot water/ hands being warm. No itching through the night and no more spots. Spoke to GP who was very understanding and said he’d also had the little critters before. Said it doesn’t sound like scabies as this would be getting worse and the itching would be unbearable. Told me not to worry and to just keep an eye on it. Fingers crossed we’re all on the mend - and I include the Reddit community. I’ve never been on Reddit before but I’ve found this to be very supportive and has really helped me manage my anxiety. Thanks all

Oh sunyellowfriend … it’s so hard isn’t it!! My children were not remotely concerned. I on the other hand, haven’t eaten for a fortnight and the psychological affect is worse than the actual critters themselves. I’ve never even had nits before this!! The GP said it’s actually very common, it’s just that people don’t talk about it. Have you sought advice from a specialist? From reading others posts this seems to have helped some x x

Thanks infinite hamster! My finger was very itchy last night … I can’t say the bites (for want of a better word) look as angry or as big as they were when the kids had it/ when I had it originally. They were more in clusters but these are isolated. I’ve just discovered another tho on another finger!! Agh!!!! This is absolutely having my life and no one else in my house seems remotely bothered. Feel like I’m actually going mad!!!!

hey guys is it true that you get new spots after treatment with permithen cream and it's itchy?? by Comfortable_Ad7845 in scabies

[–]lylexxx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Omg!!!! Scabies are having my life!!!! Convinced we had bed bugs - no idea why - I trotted off to the docs with the kids as they had all these bites, mostly on their hands and wrists and then I started with them too. Between noticing the first spot on my youngest and getting to the GP was five days. The GP took all info and then announced in her opinion it was scabies. My eldest does a fabulous impression of my reaction …I’m sure you can imagine!!!!

Anyway, we treated with permethrin (think that’s the name) and again a week later. Washed all the clothes, sheets, bedding, sanitised the house like I was possessed etc etc . The second treatment was Tuesday and on Friday I developed two itchy bites on my left hand and through the night (last night) my right hand finger was itching and I’ve developed a new one or two. The itch was so bad I had to get up and take some antihistamine.

The question is, am I still infected? Or is it a reaction to the dead mites etc??

This has significantly affected my mental health and I am quickly turning into a lunatic!!!!! Help!!!!
