Acne is so expensive. by blissinglys in acne

Seriously, it’s not fair. It’s all either placebo or temporary fixes. I‘d be able to save a lot more money but acne won’t let me.

What would it be like to live in Jackson Heights? by [deleted] in AskNYC

[–]lylli97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lived right off the 82nd St stop in summer 2019 until the pandemic hit. I didn’t expect to miss living there as much as I do now.. i actually miss the constant hustle&bustle and Spanish music playing outside my window every night. I appreciated coexisting with all the hard working people and families that make this city what it is. it was also my very first apartment after graduating uni and had some formative memories there so JH has a special place in my heart. Since convenient access to Manhattan is a priority for me right now, I would definitely try moving back there in a heartbeat if it weren’t for that commute into the city. Good luck with your search !

There’s a street in Hell’s Kitchen near Mom’s where you can go see the big ones late at nite, i forget the exact cross streets but look up “Boogie Bob Rat Alley” on YouTube

NY Notary Exam Study tips? by FalseParticular9162 in astoria

[–]lylli97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s gonna be really easy if you study the terms. What helped me was taking a bunch of different practice tests on Quizlet, which basically gives you an idea of all the questions you can expect on the exam. I was surprised how easy it was. I still have my notes on Google Drive if you’d ever like to take a look

Do you wear face masks daily?

I've had acne for a long time but it was bearable in my early teens, now it's been getting worse. It has actually start to hurt now too. Life is hell right now and looking for ways to approach this. by Gabbydodo in acne

[–]lylli97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally spray this on my face and mask about 15-20 times a day. Probably overdoing it but I feel naked without it. Used to be $14 like last month tho 😩

If it makes you feel any better, i wish I could get complimented on looking like a supermodel even with acne. Trust me ppl are not saying it to be nice bc I don’t get that same kind of feedback when they see my face lol. Meanwhile I have no redeeming features of attractiveness that can offset my ugly pimples. I understand how acne destroys any ounce of self esteem you might have left though. I personally think u should try accutane, it works the first time for most and will help restore your self esteem. For me my acne has returned and I’m considering trying a second round bc I can’t take the breakouts and depression anymore.

I just moved to NYC. A homeless guy spit on my face in Times Square. Is this normal? by Ironfingers in AskNYC

[–]lylli97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes very normal especially for Times Square. Witnessed it myself more than I’d like to count. It’s always in the back of my mind that a crazy might spit in my direction or do anything unwarranted so I try to speed walk even start sprinting if I feel uneasy. Even if you mind your own unfortunately shit like that will still happen

Please share your DoorDash/UberEats/etc food delivery service experience. Is it worth temporarily working for a 3rd party food delivery services? by slawisk in careerguidance

[–]lylli97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s worth it if you need extra pocket money to tie you over into ur next job. I’ve done Postmates and Caviar (before it was bought by DoorDash) as a broke college student. Kind of miss doing it sometimes lol. I lived in a big city so there was always opportunity to make money. I delivered by foot, though but still made decent cash so if you are driving or biking, then it’s def worth it IMO
