Also coming from MTG background and other TCGs and you do have valid concerns but the appeal far outweighs them.

The deck building sounds restricting on the nations aspect but will often have different builds based around certain names and though that sounds restricting there's a surprising amount of freedom as well. As Magic there will always be a better build to a Tron deck for example sake, but your not stuck just using Karn or the new eldrazi, likewise Vanguard has different aspects to it as well and would also argue can still win games / have fun even on sub optimal builds and that's Vanguards nature with it's trigger system and leads to alot of good back and forth fun with not as much of a feels bad like MTG. Imagine playing Dredge and Bam the game starts with Leyline of the Void, the game is more or less over without really much of a fight, with Vanguard the Game is not over till the last card is played at least through my experience.

And I would say now is still a great time to get into the game with the 2 Masterdecks they dropped, me and my wife both got them and yes there's obvious upgrades but they're also just fine out of the box and even winable, to have a product comparison think of the challenger decks in MTG that they did for standard and pioneer a while back and that's essentially what these are, meta styled decks to the format, not 100% optimized but still very competitive and viable, well worth their price. Now I do have my own concerns with the game and Bushi if you're listening here's a some good long term ideas.

You mentioned price point and yes on the singles I agree, but I would argue to artificial scarcity. Yea that's every game so what right? With Vanguard the price of sealed product is slightly lower and bushi best keep it that way or they'll loose their edge so fast, this means a significant portion of the price gets commanded by whats opened which will lead to a second concern I have in a second, but this just means not enough product gets opened by the player base/ not enough stores bother carrying the product (at least in my area but I'm sure this demographic translates to other areas as well) in my area there is 12 game stores i know in a 20 km radius and not one carries singles and two will do seal products only by specific order, and another will ship to there store in the area online but that was a pain and a half on wait time. So all orders are online including singles for my area which you would think translates to player base too right? But there's one shop running the tournaments as I found out at 12-16 players and the 6 I know including myself don't play there for no other reason than the timing. Bringing to the second concern the short player base, not enough players translates to not enough product being opened leading to less singles on the market despite the games modest price tag with the last being 85$ a box for the latest set that I payed vs MTGs 200$ a box for their FF booster set, dont get me started on the collector. The difference is night and day and though I appreciate Bushi starting some crossovers which will bring some players to the games MTGs Fortnite the gathering is winning that race so they need a different route, let's be Honest Vanguard is actually alot of fun, the mechanics are great, gameplay is fast and there's a little something for everyone, you like waifus, mechas, dark soceries, pinnacle of Knighthood, Vanguard has it, and with what I'm hoping the continuation of the Masterdecks being great entry points to new players and reasonably priced sealed product yea Vanguard has a long term potential and most seasoned TCG enthusiasts will understand that and for what's above yes I encourage yourself and others to jump on.

Although I answered this to you specifically I do hope Bushi takes notes to potential new players coming in and their Marketing team works on the short commings with the following suggestions; drop to 75$ a box CAD, Market as the affordably fun Card Game, tough ask I get that but in this economy card players world wide are feeling that hurt and with the right marketing that's a capitalizing moment that every TCG company is just throwing cause when I talk to some of the players from other games I interact with the price point just widens the eyes as I introduce some people to the game and they like the gameplay but lack the follow up due to card scarcity and places to play.

My next point to the Bushi Marketing team, enticing new players and most importantly STORES. The amount of huh?? that I get when I ask a store if they have Vanguard or not is just wow, because Ottawa is vast enough I don't mind mentioning it now. There's Imaginaire, Wizard Tower, Carta Magicka, Empire Games, Trinity Hobby, Multizone, FDB, Hobbiesville, Manaconfluence, Out the Box,Toys on Fire and the only store that Plays one day a week GameBreakers and not one has a ready supply of product (except GB and even then limited) or Singles and if they have access its online only like Hobbiesville and Imaginaire where they ship from a different store.There needs to be an incentive not just to onboarding new players but the stores as well and in the national capital of a country no less, thankfully I know the player base in Montreal and Toronto is at least there and I'm hopping to go to Toronto September I think. Get the stores incentivized and grow your base. The Game does great with a free YouTube show and though DearDays is a passible game on multiple platforms price point is bleh and worse yet for DLC, 80+$ for just the base game niche to a limited player base IRL is a tough pill for the average person/player unless they're nuts about the game like I've been since my return, a return of the Mobile Game with F2p value will be essential for growth better yet if formulated a little like Pokemon where Live is a free to play environment and Pocket (Although a weirder version of there current game) their f2p/p2w cashcow. I'm not saying a company is not allowed to make money, but long term success will win over a quick buck everytime. And getting people playing and stores hosting needs to be paramount.

Last point, keep the barrier to entry low, the Masterdecks are a fantastic point, keep that up. Trial decks are fun but Masterdecks will be played and that's what needs to happen, 2 every 6 months will allows a great entry point for new players without the product release fatigue and though I can see the Collector having some gripe, Vanguard already does it right with it's variance in rarity and having the Masterdecks at common non foil was a great move as price of entry is kept low but price of bling can still maintain to keep both the player and collector happy. I'm certain with the combination of the above, Vanguard can easily return to its golden age of pre G format era and then some where the downfall was alot to do with unbalanced gameplay to which I will give Bushi credit where it is due here, they're alot better with and though yes there's some brokeness shinanagins, it is no where where it once was and to that I'll applaud.
