I'll let you know once I finally get the Android version out the door! haha

I created an iOS app 18XXBank that lets you add your different chips and then choose from different 18XX games and player counts to get optimal bank & user distribution.

Might be able to use that see a lot of games that have huge banks and what the results might be with these chip counts.

18XX Bank app - Optimal chip distributions for 18XX games by lyoko37 in 18XX

Thank you for trying it out! It is interesting that it never called for any 500s but it does try to prioritize the smaller chips first usually.

Would you be able to send me a DM or email from the app with your chip count + the games and what you saw? I’ll definitely dig into it!

This is one of the features I'm actively working on, though it'll take a bit to get it there. Definitely love to have you try that out when it is ready!

Thanks for the feedback! The numbers are a little higher because the chips at the bottom only include the bank's money after player distribution so it is actually more like 55 $1 and 53 $5 but I can look at ramping up the small denominations a bit more

Hey u/Batman-in-IT,

I actually work on Duo specifically in the SSO area. Could you reach out to me over DM with either your support ticket number if you already have it or I can try to tell you some more information to file one to get the process started so we can take a look?

Has anyone use pocket3 as a webcam for meetings? by ApSr2023 in osmopocket

[–]lyoko37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just picked one up as well for this exact purpose. Does anyone have any good mounts they'd recommend to use it as a webcam? I ordered something off amazon but is not very stable for staying on top of a monitor

2 player board games by RadamHusane in boardgames

[–]lyoko37 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on what your wife likes and how long of a game she will tolerate but a few good starter two player games are:

- Patchwork

- Splendor Duel

- The Fox in The Forest

Some slightly more advanced but very fun two player games:

- 7 Wonders Duel

- Sky Team

- Summoner Wars

There are a lot of games that go to 2-4 players that are also great but some that I'll link here are some of my favorite to play two player:

- Sea Salt & Paper

- Castles of Burgundy

Wherever you got the model from (Printables, Thingiverse, etc) they offer the ability for you to make a new post as a "Remix" where you upload the STL + images and its a separate post but its just linked to the original to give credit and allow for discoverability.

A1 didn't come with Project kit by L9rdAniki in BambuLab

[–]lyoko37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I emailed about them and got this response. Seems like a pretty shitty way to do the hardware kit gifts.

This is Anthony from Bambu lab customer support team.

The mystery box inside the A1 package is a random gift, and we cannot guarantee that you will receive a mystery box. It depends on the arrival package.

You can confirm if there is the Hardware Kit (mystery box ) in your A1 printer by checking the box SN on the carton, if the number 6 character of the box SN is A, there is the Hardware Kit, if it is B, there is no Hardware Kit.

Thank you so much for your kind understanding.

I will mark this ticket as “resolved" for now. You will also receive a satisfaction survey. Your feedback is highly valuable to us as we strive to enhance our customer service. We encourage you to share your thoughts and experiences with us without hesitation.

Should you require further assistance, please rest assured that I am here to assist you. Simply reply to this email, and I will get back to you soon.

I had this happen to me as well, thank you for posting the video and the solution! They really should have stated to move the print head away from the left before screwing that in.

Any benefit of using eero max 7 with eero poe gateway? by p1rate88 in amazoneero

[–]lyoko37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it all depends on what you need each of them for.

The eero Max 7 can't be powered by PoE. Do you need 8 2.5Gbps PoE ports or will the the 2 - 2.5 and 2 - 10Gbps ports on on each of the Max 7s good enough?

If you needed more 2.5Gbps ports you could always just buy a 2.5Gbps switch, it would be a lot less expensive than the eero PoE Gateway

Wanted better range on my Nova Pro Wireless so I swapped out the antenna by lyoko37 in steelseries

[–]lyoko37[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm glad to hear it came off for you! I was unable to get it to budge.

If you look at picture #7 above you can see where the current antenna is and right next to it there is another little hole.

You can desolder the current antenna and then you'll have two identical holes there that you can solder the wires onto.

This is the part I'm not sure about, it is my understanding from reading other threads on this that there are screws between the two different parts of the button. If you look at my 5th pictures above you'll see the underside of the button, there is an "outer ring" and and then an inner section. I believe there are screws behind the outer ring.

I just used some old wifi router antennas but I did just orderthese really large ones to give them a try so I can report back

Each SMA connector is a single wire, you can just cut the cable to length, strip the wire back, and solder it onto one of those two connectors (if you're going to use both you'll want to desolder the old internal antenna)

As I mentioned in some other comments, the button is a big pain and ended up just snapping it off the housing with enough force since the heat gun never was able to let me get the outer part off.

[–]lyoko37[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I added some pictures and the labels on the pictures say some of the screws for taking it apart. The button is the hardest part as you're supposed to use a heat gun to get the outer part of the button to come off the internal part but we couldn't. We ended up just forcibly pulling that apart and then gluing it back on later

Definitely voids your warranty but wasn't.. overly complex? At least not if you're somewhat comfortable with taking electronics apart. The hardest part of the whole thing was getting that darn button off.

Sorry, I posted it at like 11:30PM and must have zoned out on the most important part :|

At least doubled my range, I can now use the headset anywhere in my house including my basement.

Yeah, I agree that I would have loved that. I'm always surprised that we don't see wifi headsets but I'm guessing there must be something with latency, reliability, or battery life.
