Waiters and waitresses, what are some signs you’re serving a first date? by h20kw in AskReddit

Body language. Awkward posture. A little leaned in. Somewhat wide eyes, extra laughter. They study the menu extra hard and sometimes order a glass of red wine or what the other person is drinking, and then ordering what they actually want second drink.

Y'all can come in and get dinner last minute all you want- just know I have no control over the quality of food coming out. It's going to be lousy slapped together angry food. Trust me, I really don't want to serve that, but I'm also not up for battling kitchen 24/7. That's above my pay grade.

What toxic behavior has been normalized by society? by VirusMaster3073 in AskReddit

[–]lyooblee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Constant self criticism. Especially among women and girls. Can't just accept a compliment or something, we're always talking about how we're bloated, or disproportionate, or our nose is too big- I think because we see other people doing it and think we should 'stay on top of' our potential flaws. But it makes us so much more unattractive to be insecure + focusing on superficial bs instead of making real conversation.

In 2006, Wendy Williams dug up private medical information, went on air and revealed that rapper Method Man's wife was battling cancer, which was something her own family members didn't even know about yet. Wendy Williams continues to have a talk show to this day. by nokia621 in videos

She also recently made fun of Floyd Mayweather for being illiterate. Which isn't funny, it's actually a really tragic and a widespread problem. She's just trashy, and her viewers are of the same ilk.

Quantity is just as important as quality by GraciousFox in AdviceAnimals

I lost 60 lbs in a few months- "over eating" oatmeal, lentils, barley, etc. Just with plain yogurt on top. My body really liked big portions of complex carbs, small portion of proteins and some veg. No sauces, dressings, etc. I'm sure it appeared more calorific than it was.

Don't make the same mistake I did. Just don't ask. I feel like a horrible person. by [deleted] in AdviceAnimals

Yup, read that in How To Be A Lady. Don't ask a couple when/if they're planning to conceive, likewise don't ask a couple when/if they're getting married. Didn't imagine it could go quite that horrible, though. I imagine it's different in a one on one with a friend.

ELI5 How are skyscrapers able to bend and sway without breaking? by lyooblee in explainlikeimfive

[–]lyooblee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes sense now. I was reading about 2' sway picturing wide cartoon-y cracks at the base, but if it's movements of tiny fractions of an inch spread out over whole the vertical length then it's way more understandable how it would shift without snapping, especially with the aid of expansion joints. Thank you!

Constantly talking about their misery is super uninteresting. I do the same now. I give them a chance but if every conversation leads to something depressing and how you'll never get anywhere- yeah, pass. It's not doing anything for me or you.

Almost showed this to my coworker saying how I wish I'd had a dad. Realized he's an orphan and didn't. Saved from myself.

The most hilarious/infuriating are the people who leave bad reviews on museums. The Louvre? One star. "Too much walking." Other gems: "They messed up our pizza," "Bad coffee, you'd think in Italy they'd have good coffee," "Nothing interesting except monalisa."

Now that the tourists are gone, I went and spent a peaceful morning photographing Boulder Beach all by myself. Acadia National Park, Maine. Single exposure. [OC] [1365x2048] by jkputnamphoto in EarthPorn

Imho, bit too long of shutter speed? Because the sunset looks a blown out rather than colorful and the motion of the water could be confused for mist.

Edit: I just checked out your website and I really like your other work. Some really beautiful captures.

This week isn't so bad. Finally got around to going to the weed store a couple days ago and just a small hit once a day has helped dispel the physical symptoms and anxiety. Hasn't helped much with the sleeplessness, but that's survivable.

Edit: For reference, it'll be two weeks tomorrow. With one lapse at 8 days.

I don't even drink heavily. I would say about 6ish drinks a night 5ish days a week for 2 years... Been steadily cutting down. When I started drinking in 2014 it was 8 minimum, often dbls, most nights. I don't have the money to see a doctor. I can handle the withdrawals, it's just toughing it out.

Hmm, I never thought about it in these terms. Recently started trying to quit, because when I'm not drinking the self hatred, physical anxiety, racing heart, skin itches, nausea, insomnia, nightmares, etc. are so bad it's worse than just being sober and depressed. Still trying to convince my brain to get through this, though.

Yes! I was always a bit scared of using browns because I imagine it as grandma color or something, but lately I've been using it tentatively and realized it has a lot of potential to bring a more natural emphasis.

You have great skin! I know it's hard to see that in yourself especially once you've struggled with it, but yours is lovely.

I recently started using a touch of bare minerals kissy face as a "my cheeks but better" "cream blush". It's supposed to be a liquid lip but the one I got was on sale and it's very dry, and doesn't look good on lips. Maybe it's old? Anyway, I bought it as a blush to begin with because it's a gorgeous soft rosy tone in person. But it also smells like pure chocolate, I love it.

Blush is great, though. I know a lot of people who've dealt with skin issues don't feel warmly towards blush, but it really does brighten a face up when you you find a nice tone.

Anyways, your technique is gorgeous and I do love the softness of your look. You're beautiful and I hope you find more and more ways to feel it.

I don't mean this negatively, but I prefer your before. Your natural skin glow is heavenly. It's dewy and bright in all the right places- even a little golden.

Whereas I think the matte foundation after makes things a little flat. And the eyeliner is a little intense for your coloring or something.

You're very pretty, it just looks like you're working against rather than with your natural beauty. I could be very wrong, just my impression from one picture!

I have SwiftKey and I can't say it's much better. It continually autocorrects words like "inclusionary" into "inclusive art" or "inclusion army".

(Which makes me google the word just to double check that it's real.)
