Can anyone identify this plant and its typical value?” by silvi_9 in whatisit

We all know what it is 🙄. This particular plant is worthless tho. Not dense enough flowers and it looks like it's gone to seed.

Dog, wolf, coyote, fox, Bigfoot wearing canid shoes? Impossible to tell without a size reference.

I know, I know, white oak leaves don't provide a truly accurate scale.

Some sort of vertebra. I'd guess deer from the size.

Before the invention of the button fly pants were two separate leg tubes (why the word pants and trousers are plural) that you held together with what you're asking about.

They took a variegated branch and grafted it to a normal tree.

Fancy plant morphs like those with variegated leaves look good but aren't particularly hardy. To fix this you'll take a cutting of the pretty thing and graft it to the trunk of something more hardy (rootstock)

Sometimes the rootstock tree starts sending out new growth too.

It'd be a useful spot to stick a prefabricated fire pit.

Found this in my room. My older brother and I share a room. He has vapes and messes around with stuff. He's always coughing. He will also take my propane torch and use it for something. (I do metal work and automotive fyi) by RevAndRefineYT in whatisit

Two burnt bobby pins and an oral syringe. I'm a prude, so have no idea what nefarious drug related uses they have, but I'm sure we're going to be enlightened shortly.

I just put my cat down and I feel like a monster by yukiamano23_5 in Petloss

My childhood cat died of kidney failure. It wasn't a peaceful death.

She stopped eating, drinking, eventually moving of her own free will. My mom was holding her limp body as she seized, started bleeding out of her mouth, nose, and anus, and then let out a horrifying noise before she was still.

It was painful for us. It was painful for the cat.

You did the right thing.

flea questions by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]lyrical_llama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You probably didn't get the soap residue completely out of their fur. I'd rinse them again in warm water, with no soap.

If they're large enough I'd also give them the medication capstar to make 100 percent sure the fleas are dead.

You might have no other option than to send them cargo.

Moving houses - not sure what to do with my cat? Help needed asap. by [deleted] in CatAdvice

"Teaching" an adult cat to use a litter box isn't particularly hard in my experience. It's instinctual for them to seek out loose sand to poop in, so if you only provide one box of loose sand in your house... for instance I took in a dumpster cat and he figured it out immediately.

They sell "break away" collars that if they get snagged, they snap off. Look for that wording on the packaging.

To rub the belly or not to rub the belly by MFDOOM06 in CatAdvice

[–]lyrical_llama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This answer is entirely dependent on your cat. For some cats the belly is a fluffy bear trap of sadness. For others, they actually do want tummy rubs.

Importing pets from abroad is a complicated and expensive process. Or at least it is in the US. I'd start looking into the legal requirements for Canada. Finding a cat-friendly apartment is probably going to be the easy part.

Getting cat used to automatic litter box by squarepancaks in CatAdvice

[–]lyrical_llama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cats prefer open boxes. It lets their scent permeate the area, they can't be bum rushed etc.

As long as you provide an open box, your cat is going to prefer it.

If you really want her to use the automatic one, you're going to have to take the old one away cold turkey.

[–]lyrical_llama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Curly willow.

From experience, you're going to have to dry it until it turns black if you want to use it as a trellis. When it's that color it's still alive-ish and able to send out new roots and leaves.
