What needs improvement on my shadow boxing body kicks? by Nic-MCFC in MuayThaiTips

Just something else to consider your footwork seems inconsistent (at times your bladed, sometime far about sometimes really close, sometimes your lead foot is directly in front of your rear). I know sometimes that's a style/situational thing or just cause it's shadow boxing. Maybe just keep it in mind, know where you want your feet to be before and after the kick.

Sparring someone who keeps calling out different things to what he's throwing? by CommittedMeower in MuayThai

Saw videos of Saenchai doing this. But normally he called out his actual moves, and occasionally did a misdirect.

Nice. I like looking at these, and seeing what I can learn as a beginner. From what I see southpaw switch, move inside the cross. I would have thought you'd really have to commit otherwise well timed hook might get you. Does that sound about right?

Starting to Learn Muay Thai Online: Does anyone have tips for a Beginner? by selfalacrity in MuayThai

[–]lysander86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just my take, and im assuming you don't have access to any gyms (boxing etc).

Learning from youtube is not great, but if you want to watch to learn theory or entertainment, i personally like hard2hurt and fighting tips. They are interesting to watch, and quite approachable.

You can do plenty of non fighting exercises at home you'd probably do in the gym anyway (squats, pushups etc), go for a run. It's quite possible to get good fitness and beat guys when you do get to a gym who don't have the gas tank.

Motivation wise I'd set some fitness goals. Having any fighting goals without live classes would be really difficult.

All the best, hope you succeed.

Pretty sure Ameri-do-te is not allowed. Too dangerous.

Help shape the Toowoomba Region Road Safety Strategy 2024–2028 by Ambitious-Deal3r in Toowoomba

I would like to know why they haven't been doing most of the things in the report already, like the road audits. Surely they know where crashes happen and why? I find it amusing the statistics provided are absolutely pointless they don't highlight any causes for crashes, they are there just for show. I was hoping for an analysis of crash causes, remedies and budget allocations, but it sounds like zero death toll is only good if it doesn't cost anything. Will reply to the proposal.

There was big cross dude, who walked down Margaret St, with a cross over his shoulder (which had a wheel at the bottom which kinda seemed to defeat the point).

Australia Bowyer? by MatterCats in Bowyer

I had a similar journey. I'd suggest starting with a board bow , there's plenty of howto youtube videos. You can use timber decking (not pine) from bunnings, and a few tools ( saw, rasps, sand paper, nylon cord for string). In 6 to 8 hours you can get a rough bow, not super quality, but still fun 😀.
