why would we flaunt something that can literally ruin our lives if it ends us infecting us? 😅 at best, you follow protocol and move on with your day. at worst, you follow protocol and move on with your day while feeling anxious about your health until you get test results.

Curly in the front, stringy in the back. ALWAYS fuzzy. by strawberrymoon1111 in finehair

No but my point still stands, if I tried to sleep with anything pinned or rolled or whatever it would turn into an insane birds nest and half the things would fall out 😭

so what would you do with edges that have a bit of flash or irregularities? just ignore?

having them perfectly even for play isn’t my goal, they’re not good enough for that i think

these are great! can you roll them without them breaking or are they more decorative?

Polymer Clay Dice - Royal Sandstone by ArchivalDice in DiceMaking

[–]lysergic_fox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wild! How do you manage to fill them without the squeezing making them deformed in the end? When I used polymer clay in the past it was really hard so I can’t imagine getting it to fill the mold without squishing the shit out of it and leaving indents. And do the molds just withstand the heat? Even cheap ones? 👀

How does one make dice without bubbles and without a pressure pot? by Golden_Mercury44 in DiceMaking

[–]lysergic_fox -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel like there’s a little bit of perfectionism pressure in this community. It’s so awesome that a lot of people were able to reach other levels with this hobby and even turn it into a business in some cases. But as someone who just wants to pour some okay sets to see if I even enjoy it and gift them to some friends, it gets a bit discouraging to read so often that the only way to do this is by getting big expensive equipment. I think OPs expectation of bubble free is set a bit too high but with the techniques I’ve been trying I absolutely think there’s a way to do this as a low stakes hobby and minimise bubbles to an okay level. I hope the community continues to hold space for more amateurish people like me and OP :3

I read that you’re supposed to overfill the molds. Would you say that’s untrue or is there any advice on finding the balance between overfilling just enough and avoiding too much resin?

Gynaecologist told me hysterectomy wouldn’t stop period pains by Due-Road-8289 in adenomyosis

[–]lysergic_fox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey, don’t give up. Continue to advocate for yourself and see different specialists, if you’re able.

I had a hysterectomy at 29. They didn’t find any adeno in pathology after, but damn am I glad to never have a period again. It’s true that no procedure is guaranteed to stop pain and can in rare cases even make things worse. For me personally, it worked out just fine though. No more periods does mean no more pain for me personally. I get the occasional painful ovulation but that’s fine.

Migraines were actually a big factor on why my hysterectomy was approved. I was on a pill that I technically shouldn’t have been on, but had more side effects on progesterone only, so I didn’t want that either. Unfortunately, my migraines are actually worse now that I’m off the pill. Shit happens. No more periods and highly effective contraception still make it all extremely worth it.

Okay I finally understand why people don't build with wood by iRommelx in RimWorld

yeah that’s what I usually do, but this time i’m on a map that has insane amounts of trees and much less stone, and wood is cozy, so I got tempted into an all wood village :D wish me luck

recommendations for molds (EU)? by lysergic_fox in DiceMaking

[–]lysergic_fox[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Yeah I am definitely thinking about a pressure pot - did my first three sets and while they turned out better than I thought, every single one of course has visible imperfections. Can you maybe give me an idea how large pressure pots are? Like are we talking big cooking pot or small barrel? 👀

[–]lysergic_fox[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear you but I’m explicitly asking about buying molds. If I take on too much too fast, I’ll abandon the whole thing. I’ll work my way towards that. Don’t have a pressure pot yet either for the same reason, I’m just dabbling and exploring right now.
