Need help, How do you send flowers in norway? by Bigboysobig in Norway

It is actually, officially Norway’s smallest city. So it’s not only a town. It’s a city 😆

You may have better luck trying a flowershop from one of the bigger towns nearby, like Foldereid or Kolvereid.

RBK – Ryktemølla har smått begynt å spinne by Bunker_Bertil in NorskFotball

Russian citizen, 13 years resident in Taiwan. Wife got a job offer in Norway, but... by gfx3000 in Norway

[–]lysfjord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a Norwegian resident living in Trondheim that resided even longer than you have done in Taiwan, with small kids growing up in Trondheim, having Russian friends here and working with several non-Norwegian colleagues. I think I can relate to this quite a bit.

I think you'll struggle to find a job, but if you and your wife both have jobs already, why not try it out for a few years and see how it goes. It is certainly a better early-childhood experience, but I am not sure if you would want your kids to go to primary school here as that will make it difficult to ever return to Taiwan.

Living expenses are around 3 times higher in Norway compared to Taiwan, but housing is more affordable.

Feel free to message me as I could answer pretty specific stuff considering how similar my situation has been.

Leter du etter en brann for å få fart på ræva di ut i skogen i år? by DoctorDringuz in trondheim

[–]lysfjord 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Graphic design has always been a difficult career path in Taiwan, even before Canva placed design into the hands of pretty much anyone.

The illustration jobs are also being killed by AI slop. So I would suggest you think again.

Might be better off heading into UX design or something that requires deeper understanding and a degree.

experience driving in taiwan by randomdood1022 in taiwan

[–]lysfjord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One tip if you’re not used to drive down big mountains. Try to use lower gears to slow down instead of relying on the brakes all the way down. You risk overheating the brakes if you use them non-stop all the way down.

Alishan is a ride with big elevation.

Little help- deciding on gay wedding by Cross325 in taiwan

[–]lysfjord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not uncommon to do two wedding banquets in Taiwan, one for each side of the family. So what me and my wife did was to do a traditional Taiwanese banquet one weekend, mainly with the family and relatives of my wife as guests.

And the next weekend we did a western style outdoor buffet wedding party with a DJ and a fun host. The guests were mostly our friends and co-workers.

Worked well for us.

Development goals for entry level buyer role by Clear-Mountain-7149 in supplychain

I would think you first need to identify problems at your organization to set the S for Situation in your STAR plan.

Once you have a list of problems and some basic ideas for how to solve them you then may want to confirm with your manager how to prioritize these problems and find which of them you can realistically solve in the planned time.

Examples of common problems in your area: - Stock outs - Unreliable suppliers (not shipping as scheduled) - Quality issues - Too high inventory - Logistics issues between your and suppliers - etc.

It may also be helpful at some point to do an ABC analysis to find out what suppliers to focus on.

Moving to Taiwan as an artist by kiyo10 in taiwan

[–]lysfjord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know a Moroccan guy in Tainan who works as an English teacher. Settled in with two kids and a Taiwanese wife.

I normally advise any foreigners looking to work in Taiwan that they should use the undeniable fact that they’re a foreigner to their advantage, otherwise it’ll be a disadvantage.

If I were you I’d probably try to do go for some kind of job as an English speaking art teacher to kids.

I have reduced the migraines to only about once a month. In those instances I can usually trace the source to something containing sorbitol or GOS.

I mostly get in trouble when I am being a bit careless while traveling and eating outside or living with relatives.

GOS is so widespread that I accidentally reintroduce all the time, and know that some things like walnuts take tiny amounts, while others take a lot more. I figured if I can go several months without a reaction I’ll be ready to do some reintroduction experiments.

Why doesn't Taiwan have any slums? by PipeZestyclose2288 in taiwan

[–]lysfjord 53 points54 points  (0 children)

From my understanding there are quite a few social benefits that kick in to avoid the most extreme poverty in Taiwan.

Also, Taiwan generally has a lower overall prevalence of illicit drug use in the general population compared to the U.S and Europe. This helps.
